The secret is out, dating apps really do work!
Long story short as Kai says, we both ventured in the world of Christian dating apps and well, here we are!
(Jared speaking)
I like to think both of our pages “read well” and after what felt like a million swipe lefts, a match was made! Right out the gate our sense of humor and morals clicked. We talked about church and was immediately connected when we found out we had mutual friends. We talked, and we talked and we laughed, “oooooh we laughed” as Kai always says, and from that came a match made in heaven!
As good as things were going, pulling the trigger on meeting face-to-face just didnt happen. My schedule was hectic and the thought of not attending whatever OSU game was happening to make time for a date was out of the question. Soooo Kai took it upon herself to tell me it wasn’t going to work….except she never told me anything, she just quit talking to me lol…..her profile was gone and she was nowhere to be found. I was a little disappointed, to say the least.
(Kai speaking)
Well lol…Jared had been talking about taking me on a date so I told him I was going to be on vacation the following week so why don’t we go then? His words exactly were “I’ll be busy the next few weeks”…I gave up..I thought “this guy will never have time for me” lol
(Jared speaking)
Listen, I legit was booked. "its not you, its me" 😬
Anywho, the swipes continued with nothing hitting. Fast forward 3 months and boom, we have a match! Yep, you guessed it, Kai is back! Nothing was really said about why we quit talking, we just kinda picked up where we left off….things were going great!!….. Until that fateful night. Yep, she ghosted me…..AGAIN!!!! …...After a conversation about freezing grapes, I got no response. A few days passed, then a few weeks, and at that point, I just figured oh well, she must have found a better match.
On my end, I pretty much moved on from the app world and chalked it up as a deep fly out to left. Made great contact, felt good about it, really looks like it’s going somewhere then boom, an out!
By now I’ve lost all hope and was content on being single and ready to continue to tackle this world alone.

He has this accurate for the most part but after that second "ghosting" I actually kept thinking about him so I texted him a picture of a Dutch Bros Frappe (Instagram ready as he likes to get) to see if I could get back in…
(Jared speaking)
Um, I have zero memory of this alleged Dutch Bros picture...you left me high and dry and I just assumed it was cause you found someone a lot less fun than me.....continue....
(Kai speaking)
Anyways, the point is, even after accepting that HE ghosted me, I was still thinking about him.😍
(Jared speaking)
Almost a year had passed (yes you read that correctly) and I found myself bored and wondering what ever happened with Kai. Soooo I hopped back on. Swipe after swipe I wasnt even looking at who it was, I was just trying to find Kai. Then it happened, what do you know, we have a match! This time I had to ask…..What the heck? Why you gotta ghost me like that? She immediately responds,Ummm, you ghosted me!
(Kai speaking)
After a few screenshots back and forth from the last text we each received, the issue was resolved! There was no ghosting!! All is well with the world again! 🙌

This time, I made sure I found a way to meet up….First date, you guessed it, OSU football! It was Freezing Rain, a Conference game and the first time ever meeting face to face…Didn't matter That Tom was there..🤦🏻♂️….she still liked me!…..nuff said, lets see if she "Pans out!"
(Kai Speaking)
I knew from the moment he shook my hand 🤦🏽♀️ lol….that it was going to be something special. ❤️
(Jared speaking)
Ok in my defense she met me at an OSU game and jumped in the back seat of my truck so a handshake was all the middle console would allow. 🙄😉
(Kai speaking)
Wait, they may want to know why I’m sitting in the backseat and not the front of your truck on the first date. Well, I had called Jared to tell him I had arrived in Stillwater and just pulled in the parking lot. Jared was in Hobby Lobby buying us rain gear (so sweet) and Tom was waiting outside sitting in the front seat of his truck. Jared tells me to just crawl in the backseat to see if we could scare Tom 😂…I had no idea who Tom was or really who Jared was (only through text messages lol). So I did! Me and Tom just sat there in silence as Jared got in the truck, turned to me in the back and gave me the good ole "how ya doin"....That was the best first date..Jer, Tom, and myself…sitting in the truck drinking a Dutch bro two hours before game time.
(Jared and Kai speaking)
Kids, Please don’t ever jump in the back of some dudes truck just because some guy of whom you’ve only ever chatted with thought it would be funny.
(Jared speaking)
Who knew being yourself on a dating app could actually work! I’ve never met someone so caring and understanding enough to allow me to be myself with all my quirks and my obsession over OSU...really, sports in general.
(Kai speaking)
It’s amazing to see God work! As we all know, Jared is one-of-a-kind and our story should be a testimony to never give up on God or your prayers. He made me wait, but in the waiting, He prepped and primed me for what was to come, and little did I know, I would get someone (and a love) so much greater than I even thought was possible. Jared was worth the wait and if I knew then what I know now, I would’ve had a lot of sleepless nights counting down. He is worth the wait and my prize. He "Panned out!'
(Jared and Kai speaking)
Aside from our relationship with God, downloading that app was the best thing we’ve ever done. I found her and she found me and as crazy as our life journeys have been, here we are. God is good and always faithful and we are living proof!
