Our Wedding

Their love story started on July 4, 2023. It was a rainy night shortly after the fire run. They went to the traditional lookout to see the fireworks over Lake Superior. Little did they know, others had plans for them to meet. Syd's cousin Kim knew their future before they did. The evening continued with friends and family but little was said between Jared and Syd. Weeks later, Kim continued planning their fate but needed others to help. She and Pat met up with Jared's best friend Daniel and his wife Kaitlin. Jared was joining them for dinner that evening. When he got to Daniel and Kaitlin's house Kim continued with her plan. Kim wrote Syd's name and number on a napkin, tossed it to Jared and said, "Ball is in your court!" Minutes later Syd got the first text from Jared.The conversations continued day and night. The first date was at the Black Cat for a comedy show. The dates progressed at the beach, on hikes, out to dinner, and more! One night they went out to the Chinese restaurant where their fortune was to be told. Syd cracked open her fortune to read, "Will you be my girlfriend?" She was overwhelmed with joy and said yes.The adventure continued for a little over a year. They went to Little Girl's Point so Syd, pretending to be a geologist, could search for agates. She turned around to show Jared her newest collection. Before she knew it there was a very special rock behind her. He was down on one knee and asked, "What do you think about this rock?" and she replied, "I knew it was going to happen today, YES!"
