September 2019

We first met during college orientation. Jared had brought a bean bag chair to a talk called "Get Comfortable" so he did! Himself and his roommates, Matt and Scott chose a nice comfy spot up in the bleachers to watch the somewhat weird and mostly boring freshmen orientation talk. Xiana thought, what a clever and charming guy, sitting there in that bean bag chair! So she went and asked to join them, sitting comfortable up in the bleachers.

October 2019 to July 2020

Shortly after we had begun dating, Xiana introduced Jared to her brother Ramsey. Ramsey, being the ever friendly goofball immediately enabled Jared to join in their autocross racing. Shortly after his first race Jared had begun to modify his car and with Ramsey's help, he became quite the competition to the other classic American Muscle drivers. That summer, Xiana wanted a piece of the action and she found a 2015 Mitsubishi Evo in Tucson at a great price and so she got it, with help from Janet Tyburec. This was her first manual car, and though she had driven Ramsey's subaru, she wanted something faster. Thus Jared and Xiana's racing adventures took flight.

August 2020 - May 2021

Of course there was still college to consider. Xiana studying Global Security and Intelligence Studies (GSIS, pronounced "Jesus") and Jared studying Electrical Engineering, they had quite the difficult class schedule to work with, and the online/in person hybrid style of classes at the time made it that much more difficult. Second semester of sophomore year was better and in between all of this, with the company of those in Flagstaff, you could hardly tell there was a pandemic. There were college Halloween parties, Christmas and New Years in Hawaii, car shows galore, all balanced around their school schedules!

May 2021 to August 2021

This summer, Jared and Xiana both realized it was about time to pick up some careers with all this extra free time. Jared, with the help of his dad, had been accepted to a position with Great Basin Industrial in Artesia NM. He was going to be a data analyst for this construction company at a refinery all while living out of a 5th wheel camper and taking differential equations online! Xiana, had stayed local and found a job with Discount Tire right before the summer started and they were opening a new store in Prescott Valley, she got to open that store, day one! Jared had realized the flat NM desert was not for him and so he called in travel support and his friends readily made the journey to help him move! Boots (Ethan) and Xiana drove out, with Patrick following close behind, they met Jared at his trailer, finished the packing and they all began the drive to Tucson. There were beautiful mountain passes they got to go through, but there were also windy dust storms, which tore at Boots' mustang bumper, ripping it clean off! The crew picked up the pieces and made the trip to Tucson mostly unharmed and in good spirits, where they swapped out vehicles and continued on north to Prescott. Xiana and Jared in his mustang. Boots and Patrick in their mustang and camaro respectively. The patch-job repair, with some of Janet's paracord unfortunately was not enough to hold the ecoboost mustang bumper on and Patrick had the unfortunate task of driving with it in his cabin the rest of the way north. For much of that year following, Boots was bumperless. Fortunately, Xiana had put in a good word with her boss at Discount Tire, Jacob, and had helped Jared get a position at the newly opened store!

August 2021 to February 2022

Another school year was beginning, junior year, one of Jared's most difficult classes was beginning, Xiana was also planning out her capstone project! As 2021 came to a close, Jared was not able to pass his signals class, a class only offered once per year. This was the make or break for him and he wasn't sure what to do. Xiana had come up with a plan for her capstone though, the Disney College Program!

February 2022 to July 2022

And so Jared applied, and followed her across the country to work at Disney! While there they both completed some online classes, but mainly, they enjoyed an incredible and uniquely different life in Florida, they went to the parks, more often going to Universal Studios than Disney World, and inviting their friends to fly out and join them! Jared worked at Toy Story Mania, and Xiana became a Dino Land paleontologist! Xiana's capstone requirement was eventually met and they both completed their online classes by then so they made the trip back to Arizona early enough to enjoy some of the summer with their friends and to pick up where they left off at Discount Tire!

August 2022 to May 2023

This was Xiana's final year! She was finishing up her bachelors degree! Jared, through encouragement and support from Xiana and his family, put his nose to the grindstone once again to push through the electrical engineering degree. Since he had to wait a semester to get back on track, he retook his signals class and filled the rest of his classes with more fun interesting classes like Spanish and CATIA modelling! They both made it through that fall semester, with their eyes set on the horizon, graduation! By now they spent most of their time living in Prescott Valley with Jacob and Patrick, two car fanatics like Jared and Xiana. Jared had also gotten into motorcycles by now, and on their next trip to Hawaii for a family vacation, Xiana's dad John taught him how to really ride. He brought out his trials bikes, bikes built for patience and technique, and he taught Jared like Master Yoda teaching impatient Luke Skywalker (except he didn't hold on to Jared's back while training) This taught him a lot, and Jared's dad was also encouraged to get back into motorcycles, a sport he gave up when Jared was born. They would go on long rides, Eric, Jared and Xiana, some tougher than others, all out in the Arizona desert. Eventually it came time to graduate for Xiana. She had worked hard and it paid off! She got a job with Raytheon in Tucson, and Jared had gotten an internship with Freeport McMoran in Morenci Arizona!
