The Big Day Q&A

The Big Day- Q&A

The Ceremony Details

The ceremony will begin at 5 pm in the backyard of the Whitinger Residence. We suggest arriving 15-20 minutes early to park, get settled, and be seated before the event begins. The couple will usher guests out at the end of the ceremony, so please continue being seated until the Bride & Groom get to see and chat with you! The Ceremony Venue is located at the Whitinger Residence (Bride's parents home) in Nashua, IA. We are so excited to have the event at the family home, but want to be respectful to the family. Guests will not be allowed in the house before and/or after the ceremony. There will be plenty of parking available and signs around town to find your way. This is an outdoor ceremony. The ceremony will be a go- rain or shine- so be sure to bring your umbrella just in case!

The Celebration Details

The celebration will be 6:30 pm until 11 pm at the Nashua Fairgrounds down the street from the ceremony location. However, the celebration is not going to be your typical wedding cocktail hour/reception timeline! The bridal party will be taking photos following the ceremony. While the Wedding Party takes photos, guests may help themselves to the food truck, snacks, & bar as soon as the celebration begins at 6:30 pm since we will not be having a formal sit down dinner with the bridal party. Food, drinks, yard games, and a variety of entertainment will be available to explore until the wedding party gets back! The grand entrance will be around 7 pm and will have first dances immediately following! Food will be served until 8:30 pm.

Food, Drinks, & Dietary Restrictions

We are planning to have a variety of food options from a pizza food truck, snacks, & signature drinks! Any dietary restrictions can be listed on your RSVP link through this site (please let us know if this is a cross contamination, a contact and/or, a consumed restriction so we can notify our food vendors). Beer, Seltzers, and the couple's signature cocktail will be free of charge for all guests. We will also provide non-alcoholic options for our non-drinking friends. While we are more than happy to provide a fun experience for our guests, we do want everyone to leave happy, healthy, and full. Please drink responsibly!

RSVPs

Due to the wedding being on Friday, we understand not everyone will be able to take time off of work to make the ceremony at 5 pm. When you RSVP for the date, please make sure you RSVP for both the ceremony and/or the celebration, so we can account for all guests. If you do not RSVP by May 1st, you will be automatically removed from the guest list with no hard feelings. We will miss you and see you again soon!

Adult Only Affair & Plus Ones

This celebration is an invite and adult only affair (aside from family members). Please refer to your mailed invitations & the RSVP link on this website to see if your child(ren) and/or a plus one are included on your invite. We are beyond blessed and love all the little ones in our lives, with that being said we are trying to keep the celebration small and intimate.

Attire

We want our guests to feel comfortable! Please wear what makes you feel best. If you are looking for a more specific answer, semi-formal is perfectly fine (preferably no jeans), just be sure to bring your dancing shoes!

Accommodations

We have a limited amount of blocked hotel rooms at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites in Waverly, IA. You can either call under the name Schipper/Whitinger or use code WC0530 online. If you are looking for something closer to the venue-The Bradford House in Nashua is a small hotel down the street from the venue (we don't have a block of rooms so you would have to reserve on your own). There are also various Airbnb & VRBO rentals in Nashua and Waverly!
