Jasmin Douglas and Mat Prestbury experienced so many of these things before they met. Some were great experiences and others, not so much. But they’ve all led these two individuals to this current chapter in their lives. Two lives, which, for so long had been led separately, are now merged together, and will forever be locked in matrimony.

Jasmin and Mat had both been attending Euro Lounge for the open mic poetry series on separate occasions, until one fateful night. Mat, following his performance to open up the night, sat down at the bar next to Jasmin and quickly noticed the butterfly tattoo on her left shoulder. Having just finished reading a poem from his book, BUTTERFLY MESSAGES, he decided to comment on the tattoo. The two talked for a few. During an unexpected interruption in the conversation, Jasmin put her number in Mat’s phone and the rest is…..a lot to discuss at a later date.

Though it’s been a very brief courtship in their eyes—one that took a minute to even get off the ground, pun fully intended—the two knew from the moment they truly locked in with one another, that this was DIFFERENT: it was organically and authentically rolling along. And the two plan to keep it rolling along all the way down the aisle and so far beyond.

They both know that as long as they remain committed to the values that have become the foundation of their union—laughter, joy, understanding, compassion, respect, honesty, transparency and vulnerability—the “wheels” upon which they’re riding will never, ever fall off.
