We have created an attire guide for our guests who are not familiar with Indian attire, and would like to try something new! It is not at all required to wear Indian attire, but is still important to be dressed appropriately for the Sikh wedding. Please take the time to read through the attire guide. For all following events, we ask that you be dressed formally, and looking your best! For those of you wearing high-heels, please bring an extra pair of shoes so you can be comfortable and ready to have fun on the dance floor!
Out of respect, all guests that are able to must sit on the carpeted floor. For elders or guests with disabilities, there will be chairs located inside the temple to sit more comfortably.
Are kids allowed?
Yes! We just ask that parents be mindful of their children especially during both wedding ceremonies. Please cover your child's head while inside the Sikh Gurdwara (see attire guide for picture references).
What time should I arrive?
We have outlined times for each event on this website's homepage. Please consider the time it will take to park and walk to the designated event space. Parking instructions are also on the homepage.
Will food be served at all events?
At the Sikh Wedding, a warm vegetarian breakfast and lunch will be served. At the Andean ceremony, hors d'oeuvres will be served alongside a bar. At the reception, you can anticipate delicious Indian appetizers, followed by a buffet-style dinner with a wide selection of meats, vegetarian, and vegan options.
If you have never been to a Sikh Wedding Ceremony and want to be a little more prepared on what to expect the day of, please feel free to check out this presentation that explains all events and their significance.
