Jasmine and Adrian first met as freshmen at New Mexico Tech. Through conversations and shared classes, they discovered they were pursuing the same degree—Mechanical Engineering.

As they grew closer, Jasmine showed Adrian an old picture of herself with her dog. During their next conversation, Adrian casually asked about the schools she had attended. Jasmine began to explain that she had gone to Chamiza Elementary from kindergarten through fifth grade. To her surprise, Adrian interrupted, asking detailed questions about her classroom experience and teachers. Though curious about his sudden interest, Jasmine answered each question. Then Adrian asked a pivotal question: did she remember him?

In that moment, Jasmine realized their story had started long before either of them knew it. What she had believed was the beginning of their journey turned out to be the continuation of a story already in progress.
