Jasmine and Chris first met during their freshman year of high school. It was one of those chance friendships that felt effortless—both were easy-going, loved a good laugh, and shared the same sense of curiosity about the world. They quickly became friends by exchanging inside jokes in the hallway, meeting up for group projects, and bonding over shared classes. Jasmine and Chris always found a way to stay close.
After high school, they both decided to stay home and go to Humboldt State. Their bond continued to thrive as they navigated college life together. Between study sessions, late-night talks, and grabbing lunch between classes, Jasmine and Chris became each other's biggest supporters. College brought new experiences and challenges, but their friendship remained constant, providing a sense of comfort in a time of transition.
Then, during their sophomore year, the world came to a standstill with the COVID pandemic. Classes went virtual, the campus closed, and life shifted dramatically. Stuck at home, with their usual routines disrupted, Jasmine and Chris began to rely on each other more than ever. What had been a strong friendship blossomed into something deeper. They spent hours talking about everything —hopes for the future, fears about the present, and the things they had never shared before. As the world slowed down, their connection sped up, becoming more meaningful.
On June 27, 2021, they officially began dating, but in many ways, their relationship didn’t feel all that different. They were still best friends, still each other’s go-to person. The only difference now was the love that had always been there, quietly growing, had finally been acknowledged.
Today, Jasmine and Chris look back on their journey with gratitude. What started as a friendship in high school, strengthened through the trials of college and a pandemic, has become the foundation of a lifelong partnership. Their story is one of growing together, and they’re excited to continue writing it, side by side.
Jasmine and Chris: A Love Story
Part II
In 2022, Jasmine and Chris took the next big step in their journey moving to Oregon to chase their dreams. Chris enrolled in a nursing school program in Portland, while Jasmine started graduate school in Eugene. Though they were living in different cities, their bond remained as strong as ever. Most weekends, Chris made the two-hour drive from Portland to Eugene, eager to spend time with Jasmine. Those weekends became their haven-a mix of laughter, quiet moments, and shared meals that kept them connected through the hustle of their busy schedules.
They continued this routine through 2023, supporting each other through the challenges of school and celebrating each milestone. In early 2024, their lives took a joyful turn when Jasmine adopted a German shepherd puppy. She named her London, a spirited, intelligent dog who quickly became a beloved part of their little family. London added new adventures to their weekends from long walks around Eugene to playful afternoons in the park.
That same year, Chris graduated from nursing school. With his program complete, he moved to Eugene to be closer to Jasmine. They found their first apartment together- a cozy space filled with love, laughter, and London's wagging tail. It was a new chapter for them, one they had long dreamed of, and it felt like the perfect beginning to the life they are building together.
As they settled into their new routine, Jasmine and Chris reflected on how far they had come. From high school friends to partners navigating college, a pandemic, and now graduate school and careers, they knew their love had grown stronger with every step. And with London by their side, they are ready for whatever comes next.
