Hey there, we are glad you are here and happy to share our story with you-- with a twist of course...just like many things in life there are two sides to every story and for this season it's our love story as told from Jeremy's point & mine #thisislove
Our love story as told by Jeremy:
Jaz and I initially matched on bumble. For those of you that are unfamiliar with bumble, it’s a dating app in which whenever you match with someone, the lady has to initiate the conversation first. I remember seeing Jaz’s profile and was immediately attracted to her, I just thought she was so beautiful, and obviously extremely fit. Anyways, after we matched on the app, I didn’t hear anything from her for a couple weeks, so I just figured she wasn’t interested. Then one evening I was laying in bed and I received a message from her on the app. It was short and sweet, basically just giving me her phone number and telling me to text her.
I immediately sent her a text and we went back and forth for probably a couple hours. I could tell there was a connection between us from the moment our conversation started. All of our conversations were innocent, just getting to know each other and making each other laugh a lot! I remember the first time I heard her voice on the phone. She was driving to Charleston, and we talked pretty much the entire trip. As most people know, talking is one of my favorite things to do hahah, but it was so effortless with Jaz, I enjoyed every bit of it and for the first time felt a genuine happiness I hadn't felt for a long time.
Eventually we decided to meet in person, and what better place to do that than hot yoga of course. I was with my best friend Brent and we arrived at Hot Asana (the yoga place) before Jaz and Ruthie got there, and I remember standing at the bottom of the stairs putting all my stuff away getting ready when Jaz walked down the stairs. Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous, but after seeing her smile and how welcoming she was it all went away . We hugged and exchanged a few words then went into class. My yoga mat was set up next to Jaz’s and I was so worried that she’d be grossed out by how much I sweat lol. All throughout the class I was trying not to make it obvious that I was checking her out and was so impressed with how she eased her way through every pose.
After class we decided to go to dinner at Beefeaters in Southern Pines( one of our favorite spots). It was technically a double date with friends, but that was our first real chance to hangout in person.
I remember when we were saying our goodbyes that night I already couldn’t wait to see her again. Two and a half years later I still get that feeling every single time we say goodbye, whether it be for the day or for a deployment, I’m always looking forward to the next time I get to see my bestest friend and I am so glad God brought us together.
Our love story as told by Jasmine:
It was hot... it was sweaty... and our bodies were steamy haha no it's not what you are thinking...lol!!! I powerfully slid into warrior one.. and I really did slide because the handsome man ( Jerm) next to me was drowning me with his excessive perspiration in hot yoga & I was not even phased because.... well have you seen Jeremy?! His amazing smile, beautiful blue eyes, incredibly strong physique AND his first date idea was hot yoga--he had me at hello pappiiii hahah! Even more than that was the instant connection I had weeks before we made it out of the chat group-- when you find the one ...you know --like deep down YOU KNOW... even when you play coy... :)
JAN 10, 2022 : just like many women do in the single phase of life, I went on a dating app strike and decided to delete all of the dating apps from my phone. Just before I deleted bumble of course I gave it one more try see if maybe some good eligible bachelors popped up over night.. and low and behold-I saw Jeremy and immediately swiped right and we matched. I immediately sent his photo to two of my best friends asking their thoughts and overall first impressions... as I was a little bit like wow a man this good looking, not married and no kids... what's the catch and where are the red flags???? We began talking over text and I was instantly very attracted to the fact that he was such a gentleman and had pure intentions and a genuine interest in getting to know me and not just my physical features-- he made my heart calm & my spirit safe -- and I had a feeling he was a forever kind of special. I prayed hard the night we started talking, asking God to continue leading me because I was done charting my own path .. and that path turned into Jeremy and I becoming best friends instantly as if we had known each other our whole lives, and when that first date happened at hot yoga, I truly felt like I was at home. He took me to dinner and both my best friend Ruthie and Jeremy's best friend Brent came along... and the rest is a lovely history!
