Q + A

Q + A

What is the dress code?

We’d love our friends and family to dress up with us! We’re requesting cocktail attire (semi-formal) for our wedding. We ask that the women wear tea-length, knee-length, or midi dresses (no floor-length dresses, no denim jackets). For the men, please wear either a suit and tie or a dress shirt with slacks (no jeans, khakis, or denim). Use this link to read a little more! https://www.brides.com/semi-formal-wedding-attire-4800687

Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer me to wear?

We would love if you wore neutral or nature tones such as light green, brown, grey, burnt oranges, burgundy, navy blue, or muted shades of blue or lavender. NO WHITE OR DARK GREEN PLEASE.

Do we have to rent a cabin/hotel?

No! We have booked a group lodge with five cabins that each sleep twelve (ten twin bunks with pullouts, one queen) so that everyone has a place to stay. Please note that the lodge only offers a group bathhouse for restrooms and showers. If you would like to book a hotel or private cabin instead, there is information in the travel section of the website.

What do I need to bring for the weekend?

We will be staying in cabins, so please bring bedding, hygiene products, lawn chairs, and food and drinks for your group. We will provide lunch on Saturday, and dinner on Sunday; all other food is up to you. Also, anyone who has air mattresses, please bring them so we can distribute them for children to sleep on. Please also bring lots of bottled water.

Are pets allowed?

While we love pets very much, we kindly request that you leave your furry friends at home, please.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be held outside in front of the lake followed by an outdoor cocktail hour and reception under the pavilion (weather permitting).

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

There will be a buffet bar with mini Cuban panini bites, pepper jack chicken and cream cheese wontons, BBQ brisket empanadas, and more! There will also be a charcuterie board and crudités of fresh vegetables to eat during cocktail hour. Wine and beer will be available as well as water, sodas, and two signature nonalcoholic beverages.

Will there be an open bar?

There will not be an open bar, though we will be supplying some alcohol for a self-service bar (wine and beer only). Feel free to also bring your own (just be sure to bring it into the venue in a non-see-through bag).

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We ask that you keep your phone on silent and put it away during the ceremony so you can be fully present with us. Plus, we have hired an amazing videographer and photographer, and we don’t want any of their shots blocked.

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Please take lots of photos! We just request that you not post any until we have had the chance to share the photos and news ourselves.

What's the best way to RSVP?

The best way to RSVP is on our website’s RSVP page; however, you can also send a text to me or Anthony. Anthony: (731) 445-6427, Jasmine: (423) 453-9052

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by August 10th. This is important so we can finalize all our details. We will reach out to remind you often, but if we haven’t gotten a reply by the 10th, you will be marked as “not attending”. No exceptions.

Can I bring a plus-one?

If you received a plus one, your guest’s name is listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, please do not bring a plus one, we would love to keep the wedding an intimate event with close friends and family.

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Your presence at our wedding is our main gift! However, if you would like to purchase something from our registry, you can either have it mailed to our house or bring it for us to open during the Welcome Grill Out on Saturday. We will also have a card box set out during the reception.

Will there be any other events to attend during the wedding weekend?

We will be hosting a Welcome Grill Out on Saturday with hot dogs, burgers, and lawn games. There are also kayak and boat rentals available, as well as many hiking trails to check out.

If I have more questions about your wedding, who can I contact?

If it is the week before the wedding, please DO NOT contact the bride or groom. Instead, reach out to one of the following: Bradley Burns (Best Man): (731) 445-6717 or Grace Jackson (Maid of Honor): (423) 333-2199. Otherwise, you can also contact me or Anthony.
