Jasmine and Michael met on Hinge in February of 2022. They both had pop-punk music references on their profiles and quickly realized that they had tickets to several of the same concerts already, including the first annual When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas that October.

Soon they exchanged numbers and were texting paragraphs to each other nonstop, and Michael asked Jasmine out for the next night that he had off work. Their first date was dinner at a Mexican restaurant followed by drinks at a craft cocktail bar. They planned to see each other again on President's Day because Jasmine didn't have to work that day. Little did she know that Michael switched schedules with a co-worker so that they could spend the day together. When Jasmine arrived at Michael's apartment, he had a huge pot of bolognese on the stove, a gorgeous charcuterie board that he had prepared himself, and a bottle of Starborough, the Sauvignon Blanc that Jasmine had previously mentioned was her favorite. They had a wonderful time listening to music and learning more about each other. Michael officially asked Jasmine to be his girlfriend on February 26th, ten days after their first date.

Over the next couple of months, things became serious. Jasmine accidentally blurted out, "I love you" for the first time during a conversation in Michael's car and then proceeded to panic for a second, but Michael quickly said it back -- they had both been feeling that way for weeks. Michael's apartment lease was coming to an end in July, and since they knew they would likely want to live together before another lease would be up, they took a risk. Michael moved in with Jasmine.

Michael and Jasmine both love to travel and soon started planning road trips to concerts in Knoxville and Chattanooga. They had their first big trip together in October for When We Were Young. They stayed in an Airbnb with one of Jasmine's bridesmaids and her husband, as well as Michael's best man. Everyone got along well and had a great weekend. In November, the couple went to Florida so that Jasmine could meet Michael's parents and Michael could meet Jasmine's Dad and sister (Michael had already spent a lot of time with Jasmine's mom and grandma in Nashville). One night, when Jasmine left Michael and her father alone after dinner for a bit, Michael secretly asked for permission to propose. Jasmine's dad said yes.

In February of 2023, Jasmine and Michael went on their first international trip as a couple to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic to celebrate their one-year anniversary. Michael surprised Jasmine with a beautiful, intimate proposal on the beach.

That fall, the couple traveled to Scotland (with Jasmine's mom/best friend, of course) to have engagement photos taken at St. Giles Cathedral and around different locations in Edinburgh. They've both enjoyed being engaged and calling each other "fiancé", but Michael and Jasmine are very much looking forward to celebrating with their loved ones on September 15th and officially calling each other "husband" and "wife".
