The Old Idaho Penitentiary was a functional prison from 1872 to 1973 in Boise, Idaho. After purchasing a ticket, you will be able to walk the grounds and read the stories of inmates and learn the history of these grounds.

The Boise River Greenbelt is one of Boise's most beloved parks. The 25-mile tree-lined pathway follows the north and south sides of the Boise River through the heart of the city and provides scenic views, wildlife habitat and pedestrian access to many of Boise’s popular riverside parks. The city's oldest park, Julia Davis Park, was created thanks to a generous donation of 43 acres of land in 1907 by Thomas Davis as a memorial to his beloved wife, Julia. See what makes this park special with its unique features which includes Julia Davis Rotary Plaza, Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Survivor Plaza, Childhood Cancer Pavilion, Abraham Lincoln Statue, Bandshell, Rose Garden and the Window to the River Memorial.

The Idaho Botanical Garden is a lush 15-acre tapestry of dappled shade and vibrant splashes of color. A peaceful haven nestled in the Boise Foothills, located in the heart of Old Penitentiary Historic District. The Garden promotes gardening in the Treasure Valley using native and domestic plants that are adapted to the intermountain region.
