Their story feels like it could have been written for the big screen. Imagine this: two people unknowingly attending the same community college, walking the same halls, even grabbing coffee from the same café, but never meeting. She had dreams of transferring to the same university he was already attending, though she hadn’t applied just yet. When they connected in December 2019 and he mentioned where he went to school, she lit up and said, “I’m actually planning to transfer there too!” Little did they know, that seemingly casual moment would set the stage for something extraordinary. After a few weeks of talking (and realizing they could make each other laugh until it hurt), they decided to meet in person on January 8, 2020—the day after her birthday. He wanted their first meeting to feel special, but as the day got closer, his nerves hit like a freight train. Thirty minutes before he was supposed to pick her up, he found himself wandering the aisles of Walmart, desperately searching for a late birthday present. That’s when he spotted the flowers—perfect, except they only came in packs of three. Instead of overthinking, he scooped up way more than necessary, figuring more flowers couldn’t hurt. On the drive to meet her, with the clock ticking, he clumsily threw together a bouquet in the passenger seat. His “fancy” touch? Tying the stems together with the rubber band they came with. It wasn’t perfect, but there was something charmingly sincere about it—a detail that somehow made it all the sweeter. When they finally met, it felt like stepping into the middle of a story that had already started. Sparks flew, the world faded into the background, and they clicked instantly—like they’d finally found their favorite person and best friend all in one. As he handed her the bouquet, laughing about how “Walmart forced him into overachieving,” she couldn’t help but smile at the thoughtfulness behind his gesture. They spent every possible moment together, sharing stories, dreams, and a ridiculous amount of snacks, until he had to go back to the University of Illinois. But before he left, he mustered up the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend—a moment so sweet and effortless, it could have been set to the perfect rom-com soundtrack. True to her word, she applied to the university soon after they started dating. By the next school year, they were both walking the same campus together—this time side by side, navigating classes, late-night study sessions, and countless new adventures. Fast forward five years, and their love story has grown in ways they could have never imagined. Together, they graduated with their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, took countless trips, grew up side by side, and turned their dreams into a shared reality. Along the way, they added Riley, their sweet and goofy German Shepherd, to their little family. Now, as they get ready to start this next chapter, they’re still best friends, still laughing at each other’s jokes, and still writing their love story. They can’t wait to celebrate this incredible journey with all the people who mean the most to them!

As we celebrate this special day, we hold close the memories of those who cannot be with us:   Norma Evangelista Vallejo (Moma), Rosalina DeLa Cruz Solis (Inang), Emiliana Evangelista Vallejo (Lola Milia) Jonathon Angeles (Kuya JoJo) and Fernando Vallejo (Lolo).   We wish you could have been here to share this moment more than anything. To honor your love and presence in our lives, we have reserved special seats with your names at our ceremony, symbolizing that you are with us in spirit.   You are forever in our hearts and part of our celebration. Airport details

The Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) is where you will fly into. The airport is 15+ minutes away from the hotels in the Waikiki area, so a rental car, Uber, Lyft, cab, or other transportation will be needed. You may book any accommodation of your own choice; however, here are some options that are offering our wedding discount.

Where to Stay

I suggest that you book and look from booking.com, Kayak, Priceline, Hopper or Expedia, as you may find places to stay cheaper than on the hotels' websites!

Other options for Lodging

Airbnb/VRBO can be a better option than a traditional hotel. There are condo/apartment options in Honolulu that start from $60 a night. There are also options for larger groups with more beds, options that include a kitchen/kitchenette, and options that are closer to the water/beach front if that is what you are looking for! We would recommend staying near the Waikiki Beach area as that is where the bus pick up for the ceremony and the Luau will be located. If choosing this option it is best to book sooner rather than later.

Diamond Head is a popular hiking trail with beautiful views Waikiki! It takes around 2 hours to hike and requires $10 for parking 1 vehicle or $5 if you arrive on foot. Our reception venue, Waikiki Leia, is located on the slopes of Diamond Head.

Diamond Head Crater Trailhead

The filming site for many movies such as Jurassic Park, Jumanji &amp; 50 First Dates! Located in east Oahu, about 30-40 minutes from Waikiki. Requires a reservation. There are multiple tour options at varying prices listed on the Kualoa website.

Kualoa Ranch

Hawaii's most popular beach! Many restaurants and hotels line this beach. Great for surfing, swimming and lounging.

Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

Our favorite town on Oahu’s north shore! Here you can free dive or cage dive with sharks, visit Haleiwa Beach and Haleiwa Joes. Nearby, you can visit Waimea Bay and Waimea Valley. Approximately an hour from Honolulu and Waikiki.

Haleʻiwa Beach Park

About 30 minutes from Waikiki! You don't need reservations and it is free to visitors!

Pearl Harbor National Memorial

Easy and popular hike to a 100 ft waterfall. About 15 minutes from Honolulu. The trail can get muddy so bring proper footwear!

Mānoa Falls Trail

Kayak to a 1 mile long sandbar in Kaneohe! Make sure to go at low tide to really see the sandbar. You can rent a kayak at Kailua Beach Adventures (https://www.kailuabeachadventures.com/) We recommend going to Haleiwa Joes Kaneohe afterwards!

Kaneohe Sandbar

Located on the windward side. It has very white sand and turquoise waters.

Lanikai Beach

For the pineapple lovers. Admission to the plantation grounds is free.
