Jason & Katie first met on the 4th of July in 2019, at a pool party hosted by Jason. They didn’t get to spend much time together, and barely spoke a word, but before Katie left, they took their first picture together (the 1st of thousands)! A week later, they saw each other at a party at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park. They got to know each other a little more, but still did not speak much. Two weeks later, there was another trip to Johnson’s Shut-Ins. This time there would only be three, Jason, Katie, and their friend Jill. Jason & Katie talked the whole way there, and the whole way back!  They could tell right away they were drawn to each other. They spent that evening together, watching Pete Holmes videos and laughing the whole time. The feeling was exhilarating, and the night felt magical.

They were together most every day over the next month. On August 4th, one month from the day they met, they went to Dairy Haven for ice-cream, and Jason asked Katie to be his lady. He said he “wanted to lock it down before I left for a week across the country”. This was the night before Jason’s solo trip to hike The Rockies!

Over the next year, they spent more and more time together, and their love grew stronger. They shared their joy with family and friends by posting pictures of their adventures on Facebook. As time grew near to their one-year anniversary, they moved into their new home together. This was such an exciting time for them!

On their anniversary, they spent the day hiking with their pups and playing in St. Louis. They are both fond of tradition, so they knew they would end up at Dairy Haven at some point. And they did! They ordered the exact same thing they did the prior year. Katie had a small orange twist and a small strawberry twist; Jason had a large chocolate marshmallow concrete. They are certain they will have the same for many years to come! They sat down at the same table they sat the year before and reminisced about the last year together. Jason carried the ring with him all day long, not knowing when they would get to Dairy Haven. After spending endless hours rehearsing what he would say, Jason thrust the ring in Katie’s face and blurted out “Katie, I love you with all my heart, will you marry me?” She started crying and threw her arms around him. Jason said, “you didn’t answer, is that a yes?” She replied, “YES!”

Jason & Katie feel so blessed to have found one another and are exited to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. Every day is a new adventure as they continue to make memories. They talked all day long on that 1st car ride and haven’t stopped talking yet. Please join them on their special day and help make new, wonderful memories.
