Q + A

Are Kids Allowed?

While you're more than welcome to bring your little ones to Oahu, Hawaii with you, we kindly ask that your little ones remain at home or under adult supervision in your hotel. The event is catered towards adults only (21+) and we cannot make exceptions, even for immediate family or close friends.

Is Transportation to/from the Venue Provided?

Yes! We will have a round-trip shuttle that will transport guests from Waikiki to the Paliku Gardens venue/reception and back. Guests will be picked up and will leave promptly at 2:30PM at the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach (2330 Kūhiō Ave., Honolulu, HI 96815). More specifically, the shuttle will be parked on the side entrance Walani street near the valet parking area. The shuttle will leave the venue around 9:30 PM. Don't be late! You're more than welcome to provide your own method of transportation (e.g. car rental or rideshare app like Uber).

Are We Required to Provide a Gift to the Bride and Groom?

Your presence is a gift which is more than enough for us! However, if you feel inclined to give, you're welcome to donate to our honeymoon fund but this is completely optional.

Will Alcohol be Served?

Absolutely! We will have 2 signature cocktails and hard liquor/beer available. While it is open bar, selection may be limited. Please be responsible and shuttle service will be provided for you to get home safely towards the end of the event. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

What is Oahu, Hawaii's Weather Like in September?

Oahu, Hawaii weather in September is typically humid and hot with moderate chances of rainfall. The average temperatures in September range from 73 to 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Since the venue will be nearer to the water, it's slightly cooler and sometimes there are clouds above the mountain ridges.

What Attire Should I Wear?

Men and women are required to wear formal wedding attire. We understand the weather will be a bit warmer so suit jacket or coats aren't required but encouraged. No Hawaiian-themed attire! No shorts (Talent...).

Since it's an Outdoor Wedding, Will There be Pesky Mosquitoes?

Mosquitoes exist in Hawaii, unfortunately, though they generally thrive in freshwater bodies of water and in the forests. We experienced little to no mosquitoes during our travel in early October, so we anticipate it being the same experience. We will also have non Deet bug spray available.

Can I bring more than my +1 like other family members?

While we would love to celebrate our special day with everyone, we can only accommodate invited guests and their desired +1.

Will you be providing details for any hotel group rates?

Unfortunately, there won't be an available group rate for hotels. We encourage you to book a hotel that fits your budget and needs.

What type of Food will there be at the wedding?

We will have a combination of different proteins (pork, beef, fish) and vegetable/fruit options available, though if you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance. Food will be served buffet style so eat a lot but save some for others :)

Can I record video and take photos during the ceremony?

We will be extremely grateful if you withhold taking videos/pictures during the ceremony as having multiple people holding up cell phones result in our professional wedding photos being a little more distracting. We will remind everyone during the ceremony to be respectful. You can resume updating your social media afterwards! Select photos will be shared once they have been finalized.
