It all began with two people, and a swipe right on a dating app. Jason and Morgan met at the beginning of the pandemic where they could not attend a first date for some time. As Morgan remembers it, “I remember the first weekend the world opened back up, I told him,’ Let’s go to Barleycorn’s!’”. Ever since that night, Jason and Morgan knew there was something about each other that they initially felt completely enamored with. They shared their first kiss that same night.

Jason and Morgan oftentimes like to plan mini stay-cations (vacations for which you still stay local to the area). This was nothing out of the ordinary, allowing Morgan to suspect nothing. The night of Friday April 25, 2025, they had a wonderful date for the first time at Pomilio’s. They ended the night at the Aloft, which is their favorite hotel to stay at when they visit Newport, Kentucky. “I’m one of those people that likes to walk anywhere I can and just find small adventures along the way,” states Morgan. The next day was spent at Par 4, a fun bar and putt-putt place in Newport on the Levee. The night was followed by Mansion Hill Tavern, Hot Dog House, and Brother’s bar and grill.

By this time, it was around one am and Morgan and Jason headed to what Morgan thought was back to the hotel. Jason made one additional stop at the Purple People Bridge. There they sat on a bench, when Jason pulled out a ring. “I was in such shock all I could do was ask if he was serious,” remembers Morgan. It wasn’t until Jason finally rolled his eyes and said,” Yes,” That Morgan believed him. Jason stated to Morgan later,” I’ve never seen you act so girly. You just put your hands over your mouth and had a shocked look on your face.” The rest, is history.
