In today’s world, a couple's story can take many forms, and for us, it began with trust in God’s plan. It was Christmas Eve in New York City, and I was on my way to dinner with my family, fully prepared to endure yet another match and get through the evening as quickly as possible. Yet, something was different this time. I was nervous, quietly praying for guidance, asking God to make His will known to me—whether this new match was meant to be or not.
We arrived at the restaurant, and as usual, I remained quiet. I’ve always been someone who doesn’t like to speak much, but Josh had a way of drawing me out without making me feel pressured. Every time I spoke, he made me feel like I was the only one in the room.
In the days and weeks that followed, our conversations confirmed what I had been praying for all along. Josh was exactly who I had hoped for, a kind, humorous, gentle man who put God first. He valued and respected me and fit in with my family as though he had always been apart of it.
I knew that with him, I would be cherished, and cared for as we built a life grounded in faith and Jesus Christ. His faith, compassion, and heart gave me the peace I needed to know he was the one for me.
Some moments in life feel orchestrated beyond human understanding—like puzzle pieces falling into place effortlessly, guided by a hand greater than our own. Looking back, I know this wasn’t coincidence; it was God’s perfect plan unfolding.
After we made plans to meet in New York on Christmas Eve, Jay and I had a brief, casual phone conversation to introduce ourselves—simple yet meaningful. The exchange was effortless, sincere, and warm… basically, she didn’t hang up on me, so I took that as a good sign. By the time we were set to meet in person, I wasn’t nervous—just ready. Or at least, that’s what I kept telling myself so I wouldn’t start overanalyzing everything.
And then, I met her.
That evening in New York was perfect. Meeting her family felt so natural, like we had known each other for a long time already. Dinner was great, conversations flowed easily, and Jay—calm, graceful, and beautiful—was truly captivating. A few days later, both our families met again, and the connection felt even stronger. I started to realize this wasn’t just a nice holiday gathering—this was something far more meaningful.
As time went on, our conversations deepened, and I liked her even more. She was soft-spoken yet full of joy, easy to talk to, and had a strong faith—exactly what I had prayed for in a life partner. There was no pretense, no pressure—just honesty, warmth, and peace. It felt effortless, like we were meant to walk this path together. I had no doubts—this was God's plan. Every step felt right, and with the blessings of our families, everything fell into place.
Looking back, I know this was never just chance but divine timing. Now, as we step into this new chapter together, I do so with gratitude, knowing our journey is guided by faith, love, and His hand. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that when God writes the story, it’s always better than anything I could have planned myself.
