We first met on, August 23rd, 2020, Jayden and her roommate were struggling to build a shower curtain and sent out a message in their residence hall group chat. Alex came to the rescue, and what started as a quick favor turned into us all hanging out until 3am—the very beginning of our story!

After a year and a half of being friends, Alex asked Jayden to be his girlfriend—of course, in their true fashion, it happened late at night around 11:30pm. By then, we had both grown so much as individuals and were ready to take the next step together!!

Our first year of dating was such a special one—we were finishing up our junior year, we both had turned 21, and making the most of every moment together. From cheering at BG events to enjoying the newfound freedom of being 21, it was a year full of laughter, growth, and so many unforgettable memories!

Our second year of dating was all about BG! As seniors, we soaked up every ‘last’ we could, from campus events to late-night traditions. One of the most memorable was kissing on the campus seal at midnight—legend has it that if you kiss there, marriage is in your future. Little did Jayden know, just over a year later, Alex would propose to her by that very same seal, making the tradition even more special

Graduation was such a surreal moment—it felt crazy that we had started college together and were now walking across the stage side by side. It was bittersweet to close such a big chapter of our lives, but there’s no one I would have rather shared that milestone with!

We celebrated 3 whole years together! This year was definitely one of the hardest as we navigated new jobs, long distance, and the challenges of figuring out what the start of our next chapter would look like. Through it all, we grew stronger and proved that love can handle anything!!

The best day yet—we got engaged! The day was full of nothing but good things, starting with a nice dinner and ending with a walk around campus, one of our favorite things to do together. As we passed the seal, Alex got down on one knee and asked Jayden to marry him! We soaked in the moment, keeping our secret just between us for two whole days before sharing the exciting news with our families. Will definitely be a day to remember!
