We met on the first day of freshman orientation in August 2016 at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University! We met through each of our roommates who we had known from high school. We quickly connected over our love for our family dogs, Louise (the Panian's yellow lab) and Tucker (the Heitner's golden retriever).

From Johnnie tailgates to late nights studying with friends, we quickly began to spend time together and eventually fell in love and began dating in November 2016!

Our college experience were some of the best years of our lives so far. We developed some of the strongest friendships with amazing Bennies and Johnnies (most of which will be standing up there with us on our big day!). While studies were important, we spent most Friday nights at the La Playette and Saturdays on the Sal's dance floor.

When it came time to introduce our families, they all got along so well, bonding over all things Minnesota like hunting, fishing and golfing. Sam quickly became close with Judd, spending time together golfing and going hunting for pheasant. Jayne and Ann hit it off immediately as two peas in a pod (they even work at the same company, Colle McVoy). Sam also fits right in with Charlie and Andrew, joining in on the annual "Sausage Fest" to make hand-made sausage every winter. Ella and Jayne are close friends, spending lots of time together going on walks or having long Facetime calls (sorry to Sam who has to often listen to them go on and on about the latest gossip).

After graduating in 2020, we both moved home with our parents and began our careers. Sam began working at Target Corporate and Jayne began her career in advertising. We got to spend ample time with each other's families during this period and became even more in love with each other and each other's families.

Today, we live in the North Loop of Minneapolis. Close to many of the wonderful friends we made during our time at CSB/SJU. We like to go for walks along the river, cook meals together and travel whenever we can.

On a 100+ degree day in June, Sam proposed! It was June 20th, the weekend between Jayne's birthday (June 19th) and Sam's (June 22nd) we went to dinner in Excelsior at Parlour for drinks and burgers. After the meal, Sam insisted we go on a walk along the docks (Jayne was not happy about this due to the heat but had a sneaking suspicion something was going to happen). When we reached a clearing on the shore of the lake, Sam got down on one knee and popped the question! During all of this, our family and friends had been setting up a surprise party on the rooftop of our apartment with champagne and cake to celebrate. It was a truly special day filled with love and happiness!
