Together they met at a mutual friends birthday party. Jayson came with a friend that Sagel had gone to school with. Sagel just showed up to drop off a gift, but was begged to stay by the birthday girl, so she did. That same night after Sagel left the party, she got a direct message from Jayson on Instagram asking for her Snapchat, and thats where it all started:

Sagel's Version: I completely felt butterflies when Jayson had messaged me asking for my snapchat. I knew there were some other girls at the party that were very interested in Jayson so I found it interesting that he messaged me, whenever I only told him where to get a plate for food. Naturally before I replied to his message I decided to post my username for Snapchat to my Instagram story and told him I had posted it on there (two hours after I posted it) to try and be, casual. However, I did notice him glancing at me at different times, and he probably caught me glancing back. We started talking over snapchat, and decided to go on a double date to the Wilson County Fair. Which led to Jayson coming to church to see me on Wednesday nights for three months. After a while, Jayson decided to ask me to be his girlfriend on stage after church one night. I said yes, and Jayson turned to give his friends a big thumbs up, and they all started clapping for him. I am sure my face was red. From there we hung out all the time, and he quickly became my best friend, which made it even easier to say yes when he asked me to marry him 5+ years after dating.

Jayson’s Version: When I saw her I just got this feeling that I should pursue her. I felt as if she was the one the first time I saw her and always wanted to spend time with her. She made me feel great about myself and I always would ask what she was doing and how her day was going. We found ourselves always planning the next time we would hang out. What stood out at first was her beautiful blue eyes and brunette hair but I figured out underneath that was a very caring girl that was always checking up on me and involving me in everything.
