Jazmine and Ruben’s love journey began on Tinder while they were both students attending CSU San Bernardino. In late 2019, they matched, and what started as casual conversations quickly turned into something much deeper over time.

Their first date, on June 4, 2021, was at Luxe Kitchen & Cantina. A date that would forever hold a special place in their hearts. Over delicious food and easy laughter, they discovered what they had in common and began building the foundation of their relationship. One particularly memorable moment was when a photographer at the restaurant gifted them a printed photo of the two, capturing the start of their love story.

As their connection grew, Jazmine and Ruben found joy in the little things, like exploring new restaurants or simply spending time together despite their busy schedules. What truly defined their relationship, however, was their unwavering support for one another. Whether facing challenges, celebrating milestones, or pursuing their goals, they stood side by side, serving as each other’s rock through it all.

Their love and commitment were especially evident during their journey through their coursework at CSU San Bernardino. From earning their Bachelor’s degrees to graduating with their Master’s on the same day, they tackled the demands of grad school together. Throughout those years, they served as each other’s strongest support system, offering encouragement and motivation every step of the way. These milestones weren’t just personal achievements, but shared victories that strengthened their bond and deepened their relationship.

Beyond academics, they shared passions that brought even more joy to their lives. Their foodie adventures became a beloved tradition, and their soccer rivalry—Jazmine cheering for LAFC and Ruben for LA Galaxy—made every matchday a playful and exciting affair. Their mutual love for reggaeton led to unforgettable nights dancing at concerts, especially seeing Bad Bunny live. Disneyland quickly became a special getaway, where they sipped their signature drink, the Sea Witch, at California Adventure. And, of course, their trips to Las Vegas added an adventurous touch to their love story.

On June 2, 2024, Jazmine and Ruben shared a moment that will forever be etched in their hearts. The setting was perfect, her backyard transformed into a scene of love and celebration. Ruben waited with roses in hand, a guitarist playing softly in the background, and a beautifully hand-drawn poster that read, “Jazmine, will you marry me?” As Jazmine stepped outside, her face lit up with an emotional smile.

Surrounded by their families, who were both emotional and proud, the love in the air was visible. Their families’ support made the moment even more special, as they witnessed this unforgettable chapter in Jazmine and Ruben’s love story. With a resounding “Yes,” the backyard was filled with joy, love, and the beginning of their forever.
