They met in 2015. They were both hanging out at a mutual friend’s house. Jean wasn’t single, but Johnny always said he’d wait for her. Later that year, when both were single, Johnny and Jean hung out for the first time, enjoying Star Wars and cookie dough. They hung out again and watched more Star Wars. It soon turned into a first official date at the theater to watch…you guessed it…the newly released Star Wars movie. Star Wars may have brought them together (sort of), but their mutual love of cats, travel, music & concerts, and each other are just some of the things that have kept them together. Over the years they have gone to many concerts (from bluegrass to country to pop to rock), traveled to many U.S. destinations (Florida, Nevada, Minnesota, Ohio, New York, Branson x100), been on seemingly thousands of walks, spoiled their kitties, and cheered on the Chiefs, Royals, and Nascar together. But they’ve also been through difficult times together, like deaths in the family, new jobs, and Jean spending more and more time away from Johnny so she could take care of her mom for the last 4+ years, even moving in with her and only able to see Johnny for a moment on the weekends for nearly half a year. Through it all, they’ve stuck by each other, helped each other, and loved each other for over 8 1/2 years. Now they are going to start a new chapter in their life, where they will officially join their lives into one and find more concerts to go to, destinations to travel to, places to walk, and ways to be there for each other.
