Our story began in December of 2012, when we met through mutual friends. Deil was about to leave for law school in New Orleans, and Jeannette was moving home to finish her degree at McNeese. We stayed in touch over the years, but we began spending more time together once Deil moved back to Lake Charles. At that time, Jeannette was working at Hancock Whitney, and Deil began working at Stutes & Lavergne. Shortly after Hurricane Laura we began spending more time with each other’s families, and our relationship only grew stronger. On September 1, 2023, Deil proposed on his front porch in downtown Lake Charles. This was a special moment for us after what felt like a lifetime of sharing countless memories. We are both thankful for all our friends and family who have played a part in our relationship over the years.
