When planning your trip to the wedding, we hope you explore few other cities either before or after! The unexpected thing about Italy is that once you get there, everything is easy and affordable, from buying train tickets between cities to having dinners out. Luckily for us all, almost everyone speaks English, too :)
*We recommend using the app Trainline to book train routes*
*Everything underlined is linked*
Florence - This is the easiest to get to from the venue, as its the capital of Tuscany. From watching the sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo to eating the Instagram famous sandwiches at All’Antico Vinaio, Florence is a beautiful and safe feeling city. You can fly in or out of Florence from the US/Canada, too!
Rome - We love the Trastevere neighborhood, its considered the heart of Rome, and is famous for its bohemian atmosphere, restaurants and wine bars, boutiques and craft shops. Must try cacio e pepe (pasta with cheese and pepper, available everywhere), and make sure you ask for a carafe of house wine at dinners- they don't typically put it on the menus in order to charge tourists more.
Well be flying into Rome, staying a few nights before the wedding, and then taking the train up to Tuscany.
Capri - Its a bit of a trek to get there - you take a train to Naples, and then a ferry to Capri - but wow did we love it there. Dev's absolute favorite day of her life was the day we spent drinking Aperol Spritz and swimming in the warm, incredibly clear turquoise water at Bagni Internazionali, a low key beach club with colored umbrellas, very picturesque. We stayed in Naples and took the ferry over, but there are also places to stay on the island (theyre just a little more expensive)
Amalfi Coast - Everyone knows about this coast, and there are a bunch of little towns in a row, so you can choose to stay anywhere from a high end resort in Positano to a small family run Airbnb in Vietri Sul Mare (here's where we stayed when we went, 10/10 recommend for a more secluded Amalfi Coast getaway)
