Puerto Rico is a US Territory, passports are not required!
Will there be a hotel with a block of rooms reserved?
We would like our guests to book accommodations for themselves/their traveling group that suit their needs with length of stay and cost.
You will want to stay on the island of Vieques the night of the wedding as ferry services do not run late into the evening. Separate from the night of the wedding, the main island of Puerto Rico has many hotels, AirBnBs, and VRBO options.
What is the kayak experience following the reception about?
The island of Vieques has the world’s brightest bioluminescent bay. Bio bays are bodies of water where microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates grow in quantities large enough to produce a "glow-in-the-dark" effect called bioluminescence. When you paddle or splash the water, these organisms shine in a neon blue-green color, making the water look as if it was lit by billions of glowing stars.
We have booked 20 kayaks and a tour guide to paddle out onto the bio bay following the ceremony and reception. Please indicate with your RSVP if you plan to kayak or stay beach side for this experience.
