Our Wedding

Benjamin and Jemily’s love story began at New Life Baptist Church in Davie, where they both currently attend and serve. God was orchestrating their paths long before either of them realized it. Jemily had been attending NLBC for years, especially the Young Adult Bible Study on Saturday nights. In 2021, Benjamin seeking a Godly friend group joined the Bible study—first virtually, then in person. He didn’t stand out to Jemily at first, but the moment she saw him on Sunday morning dressed up in his Sunday best, he stood out from the rest. There was something different about him, something special that caught her attention and continued to hold it for many years.&nbsp; Benjamin and Jemily quickly became friends, but their friendship faced the challenges of life’s busy seasons. Jemily was starting graduate school, working toward her master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis.&nbsp;As anyone knows, balancing full time work and collegiate studies leaves little time for anything other than sleeping, eating, and occasionally breathing. This dedication of course cut into her ability to stay connected with her church community. Despite this barrier, throughout Jemily’s time in grad school Benjamin always made an effort to check in on her, keeping their friendship strong with his kindness and unwavering support. “How much longer till you graduate?”, “You got this!” he would often say.&nbsp;&nbsp; Unbeknownst to them, well at least Benjamin, God was preparing their hearts for each other. Jemily always felt in her heart that Benjamin was the one, and she faithfully prayed for God’s will to be done—even during times when Benjamin was in a relationship. Benjamin didn’t realize it at the time, but God was patiently working in his heart, shaping him for the path ahead, and growing him in emotional and spiritual maturity to be ready for marriage.&nbsp; After 3 years of friendship, Benjamin finally felt God’s calling to seek a wife. Through prayer, encouragement from their loving brothers and sisters in Christ, and his Mother, he took a leap of faith and asked Jemily to be his girlfriend on March 25, 2024. He took Jemily to the park to go bird watching, and during a spectacular sunset overlooking the lake, he asked her to be his girlfriend. From that moment the journey towards marriage began. &nbsp;As time went on and their relationship grew, Benjamin and Jemily discovered how great God’s perfect plans unfold. Benjamin and Jemily are different in all the complimentary ways that make a relationship strong; through patience and loving conversations they have learned to embrace their differences in ways that has made their relationship stronger. They often say they fit together like a hand and a glove—a beautiful reminder that God’s timing is always perfect. &nbsp;Now, as they prepare for marriage, Benjamin and Jemily step into this next chapter with full hearts, excited for all that God has in store for their future together.

For the wedding reception, there is designated parking at the Atlantic Montessori Charter School, 2550 South Flamingo Rd Davie, 33325.There is a shuttle service that will transport guests to and from the Bamboo Gallery for the duration of the event.
