Dubbed the "biggest opening of the year," James Beard nominee Ana Castro's newest restaurant opened in July, serving the freshest Gulf seafood through a Mexican lens. Acamaya has received local and national press for its food, service and beautiful space. The Groom and his brothers are fortunate to be partners in the restaurant and really hope you can enjoy some of Ana's amazing food. If you want to escape the French Quarter and see a little more of New Orleans, head to NOMA. Located in City Park, NOMA has one of the country's pre-eminent sculpture gardens.
Walk amongst the old like oaks trees, cross the bridge over the pond, or have a snack and coffee at Cafe Du Monde. City Park also has putt putt and paddle boats. The small amusement park (mostly for kids!) has a train that rides through the park's centuries-old live oaks!
Located on St. Charles Avenue, Hot Tin is of New Orleans's only rooftop bars with a view. It is Jen's favorite rooftop bar to view the city lights at night, with a great bohemian atmosphere inside.
A New Orleans institution, Mr. B's was one of the first restaurants to reopen after Hurricane Katrina. Traditional yet festive at the same time, it's great for some gumbo or BBQ shrimp. Don't worry; they'll bring you a bib. And see if you can find the table where Bill Clinton once dined!
