It was a boring Monday evening on January 23, 2023. Steve had convinced Jen via Hinge that he “knew a good margarita place” aka San Marcos behind Crabtree Valley Mall. Jen drove there with optimism that evening as she was getting back into the dating scene. The pandemic was calming down - she thought she’d go into 2023 with a fresh outlook on it.

Two weeks later, Jen and Steve met at Sharky's in Raleigh. They had lost track of time after some good drinks and quesadillas as they were getting along with ease. Jen then checked her watch - it was nearly 9pm.

Jen invited Steve to Date Day at Burn Boot Camp later that week and yes, he happily particpated. They then went to a Canes Game that weekend together. Things that would then occur on a regular basis for them.

Later that month, Jen and Steve went to the Winter Series outdoor hockey game at the NC State football stadium for the Caps at Canes game. They had a really nice time together and even went ice skating on the ice a few days after the game!

Fast forward to September 22, 2024, Steve and Jen went to Disney World with Jen's family. Shortly after arriving at the park, they decided to take photos in front of the castle. The photographer then asked Jen to turn around and face the castle to pretend like she was holding balloons...Steve then popped the question!
