Hello to our families, friends, and loved ones:
As we are sure you are all aware, COVID in all of its variants is still running rampant throughout the country and the world. The newest variant, Omicron, is not only not an exception to this, but also appears to be transmissible at an incredibly fast and highly contagious rate. The science, CDC updates, and all signs point to a very high spike 2 weeks after Christmas, due to expected gatherings for the holiday season. That projected spike unfortunately falls right when we have our wedding scheduled. We fear that rescheduling the wedding again risks having this problem recur.
As such, we regret that we have to announce that we have to make the decision to drastically cut back on the in-person attendance of the wedding. In order to ensure that we keep our more vulnerable loved ones safe and that we do not inadvertently cause a super spreader event, we are now limiting attendance of the wedding and reception to our immediate family and wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen). This reduces the wedding size now from around 100 people to less than 20. The individuals who will be attending in-person will be required to be masked, fully vaccinated, and to have a negative test within 24 hours before.
Although we looked forward to celebrating our special day with all of you, good conscience doesn’t permit us to hold such a large gathering as the number of new cases grows each day. It breaks our hearts to have to limit attendance as we would love to have everyone here to celebrate with us. Although painful, this limitation seems to be our best choice. We hope that this update will give you enough notice to adjust any travel plans that you have already made to come.
We hope to have a video live stream set up for the ceremony itself for those who would like to view it, and we hope that you can still celebrate with us virtually. If that option is available, we will provide instructions on how to access that as we move closer to the actual date.
Again, we are so sorry that it has come to this, but the safety of you, our loved ones, is most important. We thank you for your understanding. We hope to have you with us in spirit, and to all be together in person again sometime in the near future.
Love,
Jen and Alan
We are thrilled that with an unexpected blessing, we will be able to host a livestream of the ceremony! We have emailed out a link to our loved ones to the Youtube live video. If you do not see this email, please reach out to us so that we can re-share it. This video will activate at the time of the ceremony, and is only visible to people with this link. We are so glad to be able to share this special time with our loved ones!
