The love story of Robert and Jenice began well before either of them could have possibly known what God was orchestrating behind the scenes. Shortly after Jenice moved to Texas seven years ago, her cousin Watts invited her to a football gathering hosted by Robert at his apartment. They were briefly introduced to one another, exchanged the typical niceties, and kept it moving, assuming that would be it. Little did they know, that two years later in 2017, their paths would cross again during another occasion when Jenice was out and about with Watts. After getting the green light from her cousin, who is also Robert’s fraternity brother, he decided to “shoot his shot” and ask Jenice for her phone number. He may have thought it was a simple request, but he was going to have to earn it first! Jenice made a bet that if Robert could “hop” for the entire duration of the Atomic Dog song, they could exchange numbers. Well, if you’re familiar with the song, you know it was no easy feat! Nevertheless, he won but just didn’t know how much of a prize it would be. Jenice took a leap of faith and landed in love! Their first phone conversations were so genuine and full of laughter. They found themselves able to be their complete selves with the other, learning so much about them both being born and raised on the west coast, the values instilled in them, and the similarities of their family backgrounds. On their first date at Pappasito’s for lunch, Robert and Jenice enjoyed each other’s company so much that they stayed much longer than either of them initially expected to. More conversation and more dates led them decide to date exclusively on September 5, 2017. And well, here they are today, planning a wedding to take place on the 4th anniversary of that decision. Robert proposed to Jenice last September and they are so excited to begin a new chapter of life together. After relocating to Texas from other states, feeling uncertain and not knowing which way to turn, they are now assured that their steps were ordered by God so that the two of them could meet and manifest a love they couldn’t even fathom before. Robert and Jenice feel so blessed and look forward to celebrating God’s work with family and friends on September 5, 2021!
