The year was 2012: the Mayan Apocalypse was in the back of everyone’s mind and a young Rihanna sang of finding "love in a hopeless place”
Enter Jenn Headley, a bright-eyed, optimistic recent college grad starting her career at one of Central New Jersey’s premiere PR agencies. Little did she know she was about to cross paths with the love of her life.
January of that year, Dan Palumbo rejoined that same agency as Jenn accepted a full-time position. It wasn’t long before the in-office flirtations via AOL instant messenger started, and the sparks began to fly.
After one Friday happy hour, both Dan and Jenn walked to their cars before heading home for the weekend but Dan felt Jenn following him to his car.
“Wow, this girl is really into me,” an overconfident Dan thought. “I should probably ask her for her number."
Little did Dan know that Jenn was not following him but instead, she had to get into her 2003 Ford Focus from the passenger side because the driver’s side door was jammed shut from a recent accident.
That misunderstanding was all it took to take their work relationship to another level and Dan and Jenn began to hang out outside of work.
By Springtime their romance had bloomed, and Jenn became a fixture at Dan’s one-bedroom apartment in Bradley Beach. Between dinners at Taka (the old location) and clandestine car rides to and from Princeton, they grew closer.
Across State Lines
In fall of 2013, their work relationship came to an end as Dan started his own company, but they continued to spend a ton of time together, even as Jenn moved to Philly.
For the next three and a half years they split time between Philly and Bradley – cheesesteaks one weekend, thin crust pizza the next. The variety of food was great, but they both knew long distance couldn’t work forever.
Home Along the Hudson
In May of 2017 a compromise had been reached. Jenn would leave the Philly grit behind, and Dan would trade the beach for a river. They moved to a new apartment in Hoboken on Hudson Street to officially start their journey together.
Jenn had a new job, Dan had a home office, and they quickly settled into life next to the Big Apple. They soon added their dog Penny to their family… life was good.
A couple years and one pandemic later, Dan was on one knee in that very apartment hallway asking Jenn to marry him. Spoiler alert: She said yes!
The Big Day
Dan and Jenn’s wedding at the W Hotel in Hoboken on July 30th, 2022 will be a new beginning in as many ways as it will be a celebration of a decade of adventure and love that Dan and Jenn have already spent together.
They can’t wait for you to join them!
