When Jenna moved to Nashville in summer of 2019, she didn’t know a soul. So when Jonathan Cortner (Daniel’s brother-in-law) took her under his wing as a “little sister”, she was extremely grateful. Jonathan was tasked with training Jenna in her new job at Pepsi. The two became fast friends, even ending their training days on Fridays doing moonshine tastings! Jonathan then introduced Jenna to his wife, (Daniel’s sister) Becky. Jenna and Becky hit it off immediately and the two have been friends ever since. Jenna spent Friday nights at Becky and Jonathan’s house, drinking wine and playing card games. Meanwhile, Daniel was living in South Georgia, working for Procter and Gamble.
On the way home from play practice one day, Becky had this random thought that can only be explained as coming from God. She told Jonathan, “I think Jenna and Daniel would be really good together,” and Jonathan agreed. So when Daniel was in town visiting them next, Becky and Jonathan set up a brunch. It was originally supposed to be Becky, Jonathan, Daniel, Jenna, and another mutual friend (Hannah) to make it seem less like a double date. But the morning of brunch, Hannah got not one, but TWO flat tires; so it ended up being a complete double date. And Becky was right;
Daniel and Jenna hit it off immediately and started dating a couple weeks later. They did long distance for 8 months until Daniel officially moved to Nashville. Thank you God, and thank you Becky and Jonathan!!!
