T'was a beautiful, sunny morning on July 7, 2017 when we decided to go on an "impromptu" hike in Grand Teton National Park. We had first visited the park as the last leg of our 3-week road trip in 2014 and laying eyes on the Grand Teton mountain range is one of those things in life that you never forget. We wanted to get an up-close view of the mountains from beautiful Lake Taggart so we trekked through fields of flowers and boulders and pine trees to a spot on the lake for two. Before lunch, we reminisced on our journey three years prior and how much we learned about each other on that trip - from up close encounters with grizzly bears to car crashes and hypothermia, we grew closer as a couple and shared some of the best moments of our early lives. Once we got the mushy stuff out of the way it seemed like the perfect time to propose. As Jenna looked off at the mountains in the distance, Ben went for the ring which was cleverly hidden inside of a tube sock in his backpack. The sock + ring box combination acted like a Chinese finger trap and it took what seemed-to-be an eternity to finally get the ring out, but once it was dislodged the stage was set. Ben started off by saying how much we mean to one another, and how he cherishes every moment spent with Jenna and that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Once the words sunk in Jenna nodded a few times incredulously and Ben reached for the ring to put on her hand. After exchanging a hug and the happiest kiss of our lives, Jenna asked what exactly was being asked and Ben finally got the hint to say "will you marry me?" To this she said "YES" and the moment was too happy and too perfect for Ben not to make a corny joke. "Well Jenna, this means we're taking the plunge together," and into the frigid waters of Lake Taggart we jumped. It won't be the last cheesy joke, nor the last happy moment we share, and we couldn't be happier about who we get to spend the rest of our lives with. <3 XOXOXO
Friends and Family - we will be congregating at McKay's Taphouse & Beer Garden on Friday, June 1st from 3 - 6pm. Please stop by to say hi to the bride and groom to be, catch up with old friends or make some new ones!
We thought an early dinner would be the perfect way to prepare for the big day. Don't feel obligated to come, but we'll see you there ;)
