Our Story

Picture of Our Story

The Beginning: A Game of Volleyball and Friendship

It all started through mutual friends—casual gatherings playing sand volleyball, cheering at KSU football games, and grilling at laid-back parties. As you spent more time together, picking each other for teams at volleyball and attending football games as a pair, the connection deepened. Conversations were effortless and flowed without a hitch, and it felt easy to be open and honest with one another. We shared the same sense of fun, making every moment feel natural and exciting.

The Porch Dance: A Memorable Moment

One night, everything came together in a simple, yet unforgettable way. Jenna’s roommate was teaching swing dancing, and somehow, John became her dance partner. He was clearly nervous—his hands sweaty and his steps uncertain—but there was something so endearing about how he tried so hard to impress her. By the end of the night, John’s sock had a hole in it, but he still holds onto that sock to this day, a symbol of how perfectly imperfect that moment—and your connection—was. In that moment, you knew something special was unfolding between you two. It was like you’d found your life-long dance partner. The night was simple, but it was filled with laughter, joy, and the kind of ease that makes a relationship feel like it’s meant to be. You truly “fell into each other’s laps,” and from there, everything just clicked.

Distance and Growth: The Power of Communication

Our relationship grew even stronger when Jenna was sent three hours away for six weeks to finish her clinical placement. While the distance presented a challenge, it also became an opportunity for us to strengthen the most important part of our relationship: communication. During that time apart, our conversations deepened. You shared more about your daily lives, your dreams, and your hopes for the future. Every phone call and message brought you closer, and you both came to realize how much you truly supported each other.

That period of distance showed you both just how resilient your connection was. Even without being physically together, your bond flourished—becoming something even more solid and unshakable. The distance made you appreciate every moment spent together even more, and you both learned that communication is the foundation of everything. To this day, it remains one of the strongest aspects of your relationship.

A Lifelong Partnership

Now, as you look back on the path we traveled together, from volleyball games to swing dances and long-distance chats, it’s clear: we have built a beautiful partnership. What began as easy laughter and shared moments has evolved into something deeper, something lasting. We have become each other’s confidants, supporters, and, above all, best friends. Through all the ups and downs, we have always known you’d be each other’s life-long dance partner, forever in step with one another.
