The Ceremony

Point Vicente Interpretive Center 

31501 Palos Verdes Drive West, Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA, 90215Point Vicente Interpretive center offers spectacular views of cliffs, coves, the ocean, rocky shorelines, Catalina Island, where Ian proposed to Jenna, as well as the historic Point Vicente Lighthouse. The center provides beautiful, natural space to observe the migration of the whales. It is rustic and removed from commercial activity, so any accommodations including the reception site, will at least be 20 minutes away. Guests are encouraged to come early to walk the grounds filled with native vegetation and soak in the natural beauty of the coastline.The ceremony will take place just before sunset, so be ready for some spectacular views!

17 Dapplegray Lane, Rolling Hills Estates, CA, 90274One of the oldest streets in the area, developed in the 1940's. The homes on Dapplegray Lane were originally built as vacation bungalows for city folk who wanted to ride the equestrian trails and retire to the hills for the weekend. Overtime, residents of this street have strived to maintain the miles of riding and hiking trails, the open spaces, and the rural charm of this unique neighborhood. The Johnson's moved here about 20 years ago when Ian was just turing four. He grew up catching lizards, frogs, and exploring the trails with his big brother, inspiring his love of the great outdoors that continues to this day.Because the beginning chapters of Ian and Jenna's love story was spent in the company of the donkeys, chickens, peacocks, and pups that rule the roost at the Johnson residence, they decided to celebrate their marriage here. Rustic charm and rural elegance prevail on Dapplegray Lane, so be prepared to wear your dancing boots rather than your Jimmy Choos. Cocktail hour begins as soon as guests arrive from the ceremony. Light dinner fare will served along with drinks and sweets throughout the evening. Ian and Jenna hope that their guests kick back, let loose and dance the night away!

There are many hotel accommodations in the beach area ranging in price from modest to lofty. However, many of these are spread throughout the Palos Verdes area. We suggest checking out <a href="http://www.airbnb.com">www.airbnb.com</a>. Airbnb is an online marketplace and hospitality service, enabling people to lease or rent short-term lodging including vacation rentals, apartment rentals, homestays, hostel beds, or hotel rooms. There are quite a few listings for beautiful houses that accommodate up to 12 people at fair prices for this beautiful area. If you decide to search for an Airbnb, search for places in the following areas: Rolling Hills Estates, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Lomita, San Pedro, and Torrance are all close by. This way your Uber, Lyft or Taxi to the ceremony and reception locations will be short and house guests can all carpool together! There will be minimal parking available at the reception site, plus delicious drinks so we suggest that you enjoy your evening by choosing not to drive ;)

It all began in the vibrant city of Long Beach. Ian being the fraternity president of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) was hosting a party at the old TKE house. Jenna had just recently moved to Long Beach where she lived with two of her best friends, Tessa and Jessica. They decided to venture downtown to check out the lively scenery at the frat house. Ian immediately caught Jenna's eye with his ginger hair, charming smile, and irresistible husky, Athena, by his side. She wasted no time and made sure that she was invited back for another TKE party a few weekends later. The theme of the party was "Librarians and Barbarians." Jenna decided that it was in her best interest if she borrowed a cute top from her bestie, Jess, rather than dressing up in a librarian costume, that may hinder her chances with "the president." Low and behold, as soon as she arrived at the TKE house she saw him in full Barbarian costume, fur and all! She approached him with Tessa as her wingman, and it didn't take him long to ask her dance. Jenna tried to hide her excitement, but of course accepted his offer and headed straight for the dance floor. Before Ian joined her, he asked her wingman if she was single. Tessa confidently replied, "Yes! Go for it!" The rest is history!Ian and Jenna have spent the last almost five years as inseparable companions. Their love grows each and every day, as they both pursue their goals in hopes of building a beautiful life for themselves and their future family. as Ian continues to advance in his career in fitness, Jenna is finishing her education and beginning her career in healthcare. With the exceptional love and support of each of their families, Ian and Jenna cannot wait to finally call each other husband and wife, and celebrate the special bond that has blossomed throughout the years.
