Enchanted Rock is the second largest exposed granite batholith in the US, and serves as a wonderful hiking and climbing spot. Located approximately 96 miles (about a 1hr 40min drive) from Austin, this state park is one of our personal favorite locations in Texas to camp, hike, and climb. Day passes go quickly - so be sure to book in advanced!
How could we not include a shameless plug for our favorite activity? Climbing is what brought us together! Austin offers a handful of great climbing locations. From the centrally located Green Belt, to western Austin's Reimers Ranch, and to Enchanted Rock. There's sure to be something for everyone.
