Our Wedding

Spring semester of freshman year at Messiah University, the field hockey and wrestling class was introduced to each other. A tight-knit friend group quickly formed and we all spent many hours together. It did not take long to notice that if Jenna was there, so Ryder was, and if Ryder was there, Jenna was too. Two months later they went on their first walk together, sat by the Yellow Breeches and talked until 2am. From then on, there were countless late night walks and conversations.   With only a month left until summer, and since there was a 4 hour drive from Manheim, Pennsylvania to Canisteo, New York, Jenna and Ryder decided to keep getting to know each other and not rush into dating, confident in the Lord's plan for them and knowing that another month or or two would only benefit their relationship.   On July 1st, 2022, Jenna came to visit Canisteo for the first time, and on July 4th, Ryder finally asked Jenna to be his girlfriend, which was an easy yes! After two years of adventures, cheering each other on in sports, vacations with each others families, and lots of coffee dates, Ryder asked Jenna an even better question.   On vacation with both of our families at Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Ryder planned the most thoughtful and perfect proposal. On July 4th, 2024, after spending the day with our loved ones and cooking out on the deck, Ryder and Jenna left for ice cream and returned to a beautiful set up with rose petals, champagne, and candles (which Jenna just thought was a sweet anniversary setup to watch the fireworks!!). After reading a book of our love story (Jenna still thinks this is all for our anniversary!!), Ryder got on one knee and asked Jenna the easiest question ever!!!   We are so blessed and thankful for the love and support of our family and friends, and cannot wait to start this next chapter of our lives!

Hunter plays many large roles in Ryder’s life. From the beginning of their time together at Messiah, a true friendship was created through Hunter’s mentorship and his giving character. He quickly grew into Ryder’s biggest encouragement and source of belonging on the wrestling team, as they navigated life together at college. Ever since, Hunter has become the older brother Ryder has always wanted, who also serves as a god-fearing man who he can look up to and rely on for anything. Hunter is a once-in-a-lifetime friend who came into Ryder’s life when he needed him most. Their bond is truly special and can’t quite be described in words.

Tyler is Jenna’s awesome older brother. He started out as the skeptical protector of his younger sister when Ryder first came along, but quickly grew to be a true friend and role model of his. Tyler and Ryder have lots in common and love spending time together at family events and any time the Lutz siblings get to hang out. Ryder is very excited to soon call Tyler his older brother!

Clark is Ryder’s brother-in-law, married to his older sister, Codey Noel. His love for her is enough to bring them close together, but he also holds a special place in Ryder’s heart for other reasons. Ryder can rely on Clark for just about anything, always at the drop of a dime. They love to joke around together and are constantly growing closer as the years go by.

Bryce has been one of Ryder’s closest friends throughout college. As a fellow wrestler, and eventual roommate, Ryder and Bryce have spent a lot of time pouring into each other and helping one another grow in their relationships with Christ. Bryce is one of Ryder’s biggest encouragements and has been a great example of what loving Jesus looks like. He also loves to joke around with Ryder, and can always make him laugh. Their senses of humor never fail to amuse them both, as one wouldn’t be the same without the other.

Jared was also on the wrestling team at Messiah, and he became a very close friend of Ryder’s early on. He and Ryder both had a special place in Hunter’s heart as he began to mentor them both during their freshman year. Jared is known for his compassionate, wise, and caring personality, which makes him a true friend to anyone who is close to him. Ryder has had the privilege of getting to know him more and more during their time at Messiah, and knows that their friendship will last a lifetime.

Colin is a fellow Mechanical Engineer who happened to live in the same dorm as the wrestlers at the start of college. He has a soft spoken, yet incredibly humorous personality, and soon became one of Ryder’s best friends through the time they spent together. He is one of the funniest people you will meet once you get to know him, and the few that have the privilege will quickly learn that. Colin also loves pizza, and will always talk up Boxford House of Pizza in Massachusetts where you can find his hometown slice.

Sam is a one-of-a-kind human being, a gem under the rug if you will. He and Ryder got acquainted rather quickly at Messiah after living on the same floor and sharing the same major of study. Many would refer to Sam as one of the funniest and most goofy people they know (once you get to know him of course). Ryder's time at Messiah wouldn't have been the same without the homework pal and study buddy he found in Sam. He keeps everything interesting and assures everyone in his proximity is having a great time. His closest friends strictly refer to him as "Sammy Snacks" - a very important fact about Sam.

Josiah is a legend of a man. Ryder had the privilege of meeting him on the wrestling team as a freshman, and later got to share life an experiences with him as a fellow roommate. Referring to Josiah as a leader and a role model for Ryder is quite an understatement. Both on and off the mat, he paved the way for many people, including Ryder, to excel and prosper at what they do. He is one of Ryder's biggest inspirations, and he considers himself lucky for getting to call him a best friend of his. Josiah makes Ryder, and everyone he meets, a better man who strives to follow Jesus with their whole heart.

Kitchen Kettle is an authentic Pennsylvania Dutch shopping experience, with homemade food, specialty shops, and tours. It is only 4 minutes away from our venue, Stoltzfus Homestead and Garden.

Linden Coffee is an adorable old schoolhouse that was turned into a coffee shop, only 8 minutes away from Stoltzfus Homestead. They have a large menu of fun coffee drinks, teas, and refreshers. Ryder, Jenna, and her parents all stopped her before we toured our venue!
