How it all began

Jake and Jenna never would have expected to fall head over heels in love with a coworker, especially being miles apart; that's why their love story is truly one of a kind. Jenna had just moved to Franklin, TN and began her new career working with Jake who was in Plainfield, IN at the time. Two people fell in love over casual work talk and Jenna sending a picture of the new cat she had just adopted, Sophie, over 4th of July. To Jenna's excitement, she received a response back from Jake saying he had been a cat dad for over 2 years; of course Jenna being the crazy cat lady she is was thrilled to hear that Jake shared a love for cats as well! That's how it all began; after weeks of talking and facetiming Jake made the trip down to Nashville, TN to meet Jenna in person for the first time. They both had butterflies as Jake knocked on the door; when Jenna opened the door he pulled her in and kissed her for the very first time. That weekend will always be held close to them as they had the time of their lives getting to know one another even more. For the next year, they spent the majority of their weekends traveling between Indiana & Tennessee but it was never a tough decision; their relationship came so easy even though they were 300+ miles apart. After their 1 year anniversary, Jake had the opportunity to take an internal job at the corporate office here in TN and immediately decided to relocate. Since moving to TN, we have bought an amazing new house with our 2 kitty babies and puppy, we are happy to live life together, no matter what life brings them from here on out.
The Proposal

Boomsday, a large firework show in Knoxville, TN for Labor Day, is an event Jenna has went to her entire life. We made plans to go to Boomsday for the final show in 2015, little did Jenna know she would leave with a gorgeous ring on her finger! Jake had it planned to the T with the help of Jenna's mom to spend girl time together to have their nails done since Jake knew Jenna would want pretty nails when she got engaged. Later that day they headed to downtown Knoxville to get a spot on the deck at Calhoun's on the river to have front row seats to the final Boomsday in Knoxville! Jenna had shared that her favorite part of the show was when they shot fireworks off Gay Street Bridge to make it look like a waterfall. That's when Jake pulled Jenna in close and asked her to marry him. Jake knowing that Jenna would not want a scene for when the proposal did happen had a wrench thrown into his plan when the local news ended up posting up right BESIDE their table! This is why Jake pulled Jenna in close to ask the most important question he would ever ask anyone, Will you marry me? Jenna thought Jake was just being the loving sweet guy he is so she said "yeah, duh you know I will one day" not realizing this was the moment! Jake had to tell Jenna to look down and she popped her hand up and said "For Real? YES" and wouldn't stop looking at her hand and showing it off the rest of the evening. It was truly a Labor Day to remember, the most perfect intimate proposal Jenna could ever have dreamed of and this is why we are also getting married on Labor Day weekend.
