Jenna and Josh met in their master’s thesis class at ORU. One day, Josh decided to discuss Jenna’s favorite show “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” which peaked Jenna’s interest. This likely influenced her answer when Josh asked her on a date later that day. The next weekend, they attended the Homecoming dance. This resulted in the adorably awkward pic of them on the fancy staircase. On December 1, 2022, they officially started dating. Despite working and attending grad school, Jenna and Josh somehow found time for cute dates like walking hand-in-hand at Rhema Lights, exploring the Philbrook, and setting up Christmas decorations together.

Jenna had only been planning on adopting a cat for 7 or so years, and the moment had finally arrived... along with Josh. The top of Jenna's list for what she was looking for in a guy was "likes cats." Well, it didn't matter whether or not Josh liked cats, because cats were a no-go without Benadryl and the nap that immediately followed it. After lots of prayer and research on cat breeds, Josh came along with Jenna to adopt Seraphina. Thankfully, he is not allergic to her and she brings them lots of joy and laughter every day.

Josh took Jenna on a trip to Colorado Springs to meet his parents (who are amazing) during spring break in 2023. The donuts at the top of Pike's Peak helped them survive the frigid tempatures that come along with pretending one belongs in the yetis' domain. They also enjoyed gorgeous hiking spots, such as Garden of the Gods, and finally acquainted themselves with the renowned Loyal Coffee.

Josh and Jenna supported each other through their most difficult academic season yet. Their lives became work, thesis, barely sleep, repeat. They pushed each other to finish and graduate together.

May 2023: Jenna and Josh defended their theses and celebrated by watching Guardians of the Galaxy 3 the day it was released. That weekend was a welcome blur of Hooding, Graduation, and more celebration.

Cricket and Fig—the only place in Tulsa that makes canelés. Jenna had been on the hunt for them for 2 years. Josh had a meeting at Cricket and Fig, and being the cafe enthusiast that she is, Jenna googled the place. This is when she happened across lifechanging knowledge: the cafe makes canelés every Saturday. That next Saturday, tears filled her eyes at the canelé's crunchy exterior and creamy cakey inside. Thus, Canelé Day™ was born. Jenna and Josh drop by Cricket and Fig every Saturday that their schedules allow.

Jenna and Josh make unforgettable memories through trips to Oklahoma City, fireworks, hiking, weddings, and painting.

The Melting Pot, a beautiful proposal set-up in Woodward Park after sundown, family and friends, and Ludger's cake made the 21st night of September more memorable than Earth, Wind & Fire could dare to dream.
