Wedding Updates

Due to the continued unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19, we have postponed our wedding to October 16, 2021. Your health and safety are a priority to us.

We can't wait to celebrate with you!

2020

On April 4, 2020, We took a quick drive (okay actually a long drive) for a private elopement. We snuck into a beach area and privately married with our amazing officiant, Doug, and Elsa our fantastic photographer. We spent an hour taking pictures and quickly made it over the mountain before the whiteout conditions hit.

We are looking forward to officially exchanging our vows and celebrating our marriage with our family and friends.

Our Story

Although Jen and Rian both went to Santa Clara and met studying science, their love story didn’t begin right away. It wasn’t until a few years after graduation in 2015 when they both agreed to join a friends trip to celebrate 4th of July in Lake Tahoe. The lake's fireworks show wasn’t the only sparks flying that weekend. :) Their Tahoe love story didn't stop there! Just a few weeks later, Rian joined Jen on a "date" with her family during a West Shore family trip to see a movie and dinner.

They decided to give long distance a try and spent many, many (and many more) hours flying between San Diego and SF to see each other. They spent their weekends together exercising, spending time at the beach, and bottomless brunchin'. In 2017, Rian accepted a job in SF and they moved in together.

While Jen and Rian enjoy spending time in their SF Marina bubble, they also love to spend their weekends away traveling. They have traveled from Maui enjoying the most glamorous spa day, to New York waiting an awful amount of hours to climb to the top of the Empire State building. They have drank Guinness in Ireland, margaritas in Mexico, vino in Rome, and champs in Paris.

Our Engagement

It did not go according to plan... Rian wanted to pop the big question during a romantic weekend getaway in Carmel. Rian scheduled a full day of wine tasting at some of Carmel’s finest tasting rooms; he made dinner reservations at a fancy Italian restaurant; he even called to ensure a table in a secluded part of the restaurant. After a few too many glasses of wine, Jen overslept from her early evening nap and they almost lost their reservation. After a heavy appetizer and an annoyingly loud newly engaged couple sitting at the table next to them (ugh), Jen decided she needed to leave the restaurant ASAP (cue Rian's internal panic attack) But all was not lost - after a quick stroll to the beach later that evening Rian, who forgot everything he had planned to say, got down on one knee....Jen after many tears said yes!
