Our Wedding

Hello All, Hayden and I realize we are asking a lot from everyone since we are already married, and had to completely change every plan, and cancel on nearly everyone in a matter of one month. NONE of us thought Covid would go on this long, but THANK god we didn’t postpone. To make things easy this time around we will be having the renewal out at our property in Pineview in PG (near the airport). We have plenty of room for travel trailers, so please RSVP if you’re bringing yours, along with what size it is so we can do some planning. Otherwise there are many hotels within 15 minutes of our place. We can’t wait to get to see everyone and celebrate with you all.

Getting There and Planning

So obviously we will be having this shindig outdoors which means there is a risk for rain, so make sure you bring an umbrella just in case. Take as many photos as you want, this is round two after all! We aren’t hiring a photographer, so just make sure you keep in mind my family are short people, so while you may REALLY want to get that great photo, try not stand in front of other people. We will be renting some tables and chairs, but if you’d prefer a more comfortable seat, we welcome you to bring your camp chairs! This renewal is CASUAL as in, laid back, this means if you want to dress up, do it, if you’d prefer to dress down, that’s fine too! We do ask if you’re bringing little ones do keep an eye on them as we do have a lagoon on the property and we don’t have a fence in the front or back, as well at the very back of the property is a creek.  PLEASE keep an eye on your children, there will be plenty of fun things for them to do in the main yard, but we won’t have a sitter for them, so if you can’t keep an eye on them, we recommend getting one instead. I’m hoping to set up some yard games for anyone who isn’t into dancing etc. this event will be a BYOB and potluck style, we ask each person brings a dish, and if you happen to give us the recipe, that’s even better!

We truly understand that life happens, and that we are already married, hence why there is no pressure to come. If you can't make it, that's alright, we just appreciate that you took the time to check your calendar.

For those that can't make it

Well, as most of you know Hayden and I have been together for 13 years. We started dating in high school after a becoming friends one night when our friend Joey called me drunk. We then managed 3 years of long distance dating. It wasnt till I decided to move to Prince George to attend university that I moved in with Hayden and his brother Kyle. By June of 2018 I had been nagging Hayden for a few years to marry me, and each time he would joke and say hes adding a year until he would. Finally, I managed to get him to agree, but at the time I wasnt sure if this meant we were engaged, so I crawled into bed one morning and asked him will you marry me? and his response was I thought we already decided this. in typical Hayden fashion he went back to sleep. Later that week I got Hayden a ring and we ordered mine. We got married during Covid, which meant we had to scramble to adapt our wedding to what was allowed, this meant we had to reduce our numbers significantly, and sadly only had 1 month to do so. Most people aren’t aware as to why we chose our date, or why it was such a big deal to be married on that date. Hayden is a winter solstice baby, Jenn is also a winter baby, and frankly we wanted the summer solstice to counter Haydens winter, but 2020 also meant something, this was 10 years together, not many people can say they’ve made it 10 years. So we wanted it as a celebration.

Hayden and I decided to get our pets a new buddy, and so we are having a baby. Baby Mettler is due November 3rd, though we all know that babies show up when they want to show up. We’ve decided that since this will be a day when we are all together that we may as well toss in a baby shower! So we’ll include some fun things like guessing babies due date, sex, and weight, etc. If anyone is interested in getting baby a gift we ask that you message us and ask for the registry, because let’s face it, who needs 30 pairs of newborn onsies 😜.  It’s absolutely not necessary to get baby a gift, but if you want something nice like a card, a book goes a long way, leave a little note in one.  By August 31st it’ll be about 31 weeks in so my belly will probably be pretty decently plump, just be sure to ask before touching, because I’m pretty plump to begin with and it might not be baby.
