On August 4, 2022, Josh wanted Chick-fil-A sauce, so he came into Target where Jenny was working. Josh came in dressed as Indiana Jones because he was working at a kids camp. Jenny was wearing her Target gear. Josh found a Chick-fil-A bottle but it had no price tag on it, so he turned around and saw Jenny taking expired food out of the cooler. Since Josh says he's a cheapskate and wants to know exactly how much he is paying for, he approached Jenny and asked her how much the bottle of Chick-fil-A sauce was. Jenny told him how much it was and gave him her Snapchat after talking for ten minutes. The rest is history and now we are getting married!
On September 30, 2022 Josh decided to drive all the way down to Jenny's college in NC. Josh woke up before 4am to leave from Buffalo to drive all the way down 12 hours to campus. Josh passed through NY, PA, OH, KY, TN, and NC, but finally made it after 12 long hours in the car. Josh was so determined to get there and ask out Jenny that weekend, that he didn't eat anything until he got there. We then got Taco Bell when Josh arrived, which took way longer than it should have and realizes how quick Jenny eats food. The next morning, on October 1, 2022 is when Josh asked Jenny to be his girlfriend. The next morning at 4am, Josh left to go back to Buffalo and do the 12 hour drive again.
As long distance is hard, so is traveling in February. Every Valentine's Day Josh and Jenny would meet halfway in Cincinnati. So, in 2024 we both make the drive, but didn't know what would happen on the way there. There was a big storm that we didn't think would be so bad until it was too late.
On Jenny's drive, everything was fine until she reached Kentucky. It started pouring and she put on her wipers which decided to stop working and get stuck in an upright position. She had to pull over in the middle of no where in the mountains. Long story short, she was crying on the phone with on-star for hours and she had to get a tow and ended up in a hotel in Kentucky. Safe to say. she didn't make it to Cincinnati. When she woke up Saturday she had to drive to a dealership to get the car fixed before she could go see Josh. She didn't make it there until 2pm where Josh had Chick-fil-A waiting for her. Keep in mind, we had to leave Sunday morning to both go back to school.
On Josh's drive, everything was fine until Columbus where the snow picked up so much he couldn't see. Ohio decided to not spend any money on street lights, plows, guardrails, or salt. People were flying off the highway and into ditches. 16 wheelers kept flipping over and leaving only half a lane open. He eventually made it to the hotel at midnight which is over four hours later then we both should have gotten there.
Overall, we both had a rough ride, but eventually made it. We both gave our parents quite a scare. In the end, we are both very determined to see each other no matter what.
On October 5, 2024 Josh acted weirder than normal. Jenny knew something was up. Josh took Jenny out for brunch and then went to Glen Falls Park. We walked around for a bit until one of our best friends Bella and her boyfriend showed up. Jenny knew once they got there something was going to happen. They were going to take a picture of us and that is when Josh got down on one knee in front of the waterfall to ask Jenny to marry him. Jenny of course said yes and Josh put the ring on her finger. Luckily, Bella and her boyfriend got it all on video. Bella surprised us with a bottle of prosecco to pop once we got engaged. The cork went flying and no one could find it. The prosecco blew up in Josh's face, it was quite funny.
