Our Wedding

It all began on February 4, 2011, with a knock at the door. Danny was looking for a friend—I thought he was handsome but lost. He thought I was cute but clearly confused. Neither of us could have known that moment would be the start of something special. The simple meeting grew into friendship, and friendship blossomed into love. Looking back, it feels like God placed him right in my path and delivered him to my door—literally. We got to know each other over a year and officially began dating on September 19, 2012. Since then, we’ve been writing our story together, one day and one memory at a time.—————————————————————————————————————Todo comenzó el 4 de febrero de 2011, con un golpe en la puerta. Danny estaba buscando a un amigo — yo pensé que era guapo pero perdido. Él pensó que yo era linda pero claramente estaba confundida. Ninguno de los dos podía saber que ese momento sería el inicio de algo especial. El simple encuentro se convirtió en amistad, y de esa amistad floreció el amor. Pensandolo bien, siento que Dios lo puso justo en mi camino y me lo entregó a mi puerta — literalmente. Nos conocimos durante más de un año y oficialmente comenzamos a salir el 19 de septiembre de 2012. Desde entonces, hemos estado escribiendo nuestra historia juntos, un día y un recuerdo a la vez.

How We Met

For me, it was a complete surprise. For everyone else, it was a secret they’d been thrilled to keep. While Danny spent the day wining and dining me, our friends and family worked behind the scenes, planning a celebration filled with love. As I stepped into my home, the lights were dimmed, a mariachi band played, and everyone was waiting. Overwhelmed with emotion, tears filled my eyes—then came the question that changed our lives. From that moment on, our journey toward forever truly began. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!—————————————————————————————————————Para mí, fue una completa sorpresa. Para todos los demás, era un secreto que habían guardado con mucha emoción. Mientras Danny pasaba el día llevándome a cenar y disfrutando conmigo, nuestros amigos y familiares trabajaban en secreto, planeando una celebración llena de amor. Al entrar a mi casa, las luces estaban bajas, una banda de mariachi tocaba, y todos nos esperaban. Conmovida, se me llenaron los ojos de lágrimas—y entonces llegó la pregunta que cambió nuestras vidas. Desde ese momento, nuestro camino juntos realmente comenzó. Estamos emocionados por celebrar este próximo capítulo con todos ustedes!

What will the weather be like?

Barranquilla enjoys a tropical climate with warm, humid weather year-round. In March, guests can expect temperatures between 70–85°F, sunny skies, minimal rain, and gentle coastal breezes.——————————————————————————————————————————————————Barranquilla tiene un clima tropical, con temperaturas cálidas y húmedas durante todo el año.En marzo, pueden esperar temperaturas entre 21–29°C, bastante sol, poca lluvia y suaves brisas.

What should I wear?

Ladies:Cocktail or maxi dresses in breathable fabrics. Feel free to play with color and print. Dressy sandals or heels welcome. No grass or sand to worry about! Please reserve coral for the bridesmaids and white or similar colors (like ivory or cream) for the bride. Gentlemen:Light suits, dress pants with a button-down, or a guayabera. Ties are optional, and dress shoes are recommended.——————————————————————————————————————————————————Damas:Vestidos tipo cóctel o maxi en telas transpirables. Jueguen con colores y estampados si lo desean. Sandalias elegantes o tacones son bienvenidos. Por favor, reserven el color coral para las damas de honor y el blanco o crema para la novia. Caballeros:Trajes claros, pantalones de vestir con camisa de botones, o una guayabera. La corbata es opcional. Se recomiendan zapatos de vestir.

Your invitation will include any plus ones or additional guests. Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, we respectfully request that children under the age of 5 not attend the celebration. This allows everyone, especially parents, to relax and fully enjoy the day. We hope you understand and appreciate your support. Keep in mind: Colombian laws protect minors, so if you're traveling with your children, be ready to show proof of guardianship, such as a birth certificate or notarized travel authorization, especially if only one parent is present. Hotels and police may request these documents to ensure your child’s safety.——————————————————————————————————————————————————Aunque adoramos a los más pequeños, pedimos respetuosamente que los niños menores de 5 años no asistan a la celebración. Things to note

We kindly ask that you put away all cell phones or cameras during the ceremony. We’d love for you to be fully present with us in this moment. The ceremony will take place outdoors, and the reception will be held indoors. Throughout the evening, we have a few surprises planned — so you may be moving in and out of the hall from time to time.
