Our Wedding

Like all great modern love stories, theirs began online. The adventure began at a brunch spot in Lyndhurst, NJ on July 10, 2022. They stayed until closing time, and then some.&nbsp; Their second date was for dinner. They, once again, stayed until closing time. This was becoming a trend, which they took as a good sign. Their third date was….just kidding. No need to recount all the initial dates, but it was clear there was a connection. They saw each other more and more frequently, met each other's friends, families, and eventually, Jen met the cardboard cutout of Mini Me that Zach owns (yes, the character from Austin Powers). Even though Zach was in Jersey City, and Jen split her time living in Fair Lawn and near Philadelphia, they made it work (Zach put many, many miles on his car during these years). Fast forward to March of 2024, they decided it was time to take the next step and move in together - to Princeton, the halfway point between their jobs. In November of 2024, the two were celebrating Thanksgiving with Jen’s family in Cincinnati at her sister’s house and decided to take an adventure to explore Louisville, Kentucky - a place neither of them had been before. Now, the city of Louisville will always have a special place in their heart as it is where Zach proposed, at the Big Four Viewpoint with the scenic Ohio River in the background.&nbsp; They cannot wait to make their forever official on September 14th and are thrilled to do so alongside their friends and family.&nbsp;

Jen's Friends

Alissa is Jen's older sister and has always been a great role model from childhood through adulthood. Even though Alissa lives in Ohio, the two still remain close through weekend visits or video calls with the family.

Friends for a quarter of a century, Yeonjae (YY) and Jen met during their freshman year of high school. You can find them playing card games with the high school crew or trying out restaurants in their respective cities!

Christie and Jen have worked together since 2020, but didn't actually meet in person until winter of 2021 thanks to remote working during Covid. When they're not talking to one another via Microsoft Teams, they're probably sending each other memes on social media.

Zach's pack

Zach and Dave are friends who see each other quite frequently, now that they only live 15 minutes away from one another! When they're not physically hanging out, they communicate mostly via memes and reels.

Alex is Zach's older brother. While they haven't lived close to one another for a while, they remain close through frequent phone calls (mostly about 3D printing and any other random nonsense).

Jen's parents are a great example of a loving and happy marriage, consistently showing the effectiveness of teamwork (and a bit of that Friedman humor). They may also be more excited than the bride and groom for the wedding day!

Zach and Jen are taking notes on how to enjoy the retired life from his parents - they enjoy going to shows, trying new restaurants, and most recently, escaping the cold by spending their winters in Florida! They are so excited for the wedding and officially adding another member to the family!

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard by Marriott for both Saturday and Sunday nights. The room rate applies whether booking for one or two nights. A shuttle bus will be provided to and from The Grove for the wedding. Please be in the lobby of the hotel at 5:30 PM as the first of two shuttles will leave at 5:40. The second shuttle leaves shortly there after. The same shuttles will be making a return trip at the end of the evening around 12:10 AM. Breakfast is included and will be provided in the meeting room (off the lobby) from 8-10 am on both Sunday and Monday mornings. Use the link below to book your stay online under the Friedman/Rothy wedding. Please book prior to August 13th to secure the room block rate!Note: The website link automatically fills the reservation dates to start on Friday instead of Saturday - just a heads up!

Planes, trains and automobiles

Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) is less than 25 miles from the hotel. We recommend this airport if you are flying.Alternate airports in the area are LaGuardia Airport (LGA) which is roughly 30 miles from the hotel and John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) which is about 40 miles away. Wayne Route 23 Transit Center is located less than 3 miles away from the hotel, and has both a bus and train station. The Courtyard by Marriott is conveniently located on Route 46 West, right off of Route 80 and near Route 23. If you need directions, please reach out!

North Jersey has just about anything you could want to do! Below are some of our recommendations if you're looking to explore:

The Willowbrook Mall

North Jersey is all about malls, and the hotel is conveniently located right by Willowbrook! If you're looking to do some shopping or grab a bite to eat, it's about a 5 minute drive from the hotel.

Willowbrook Golf Center

The Willowbrook Golf Center is just a few minutes away from the hotel and offers two 18 hole mini golf courses and a two tier driving range.

New York City

Cedar Grove is less than 25 miles from New York City. There's plenty to do, places to eat, and things to see there! One of our favorite dates was to SPYSCAPE Museum in NYC if you're looking for a destination - just make sure you're back in time for the wedding!
