Our Wedding

We met at work in 2021. After a few months of work outings and coffee breaks, Jen mentioned to Mike that one of her lightbulbs was out and she was too short to change it. She thought this was a pretty obvious hint… but Mike simply suggested she get a ladder. (In his defense, Jen had once said she’d never date a coworker, so he didn’t think too much of her “hints.”) Weeks later, Mike finally asked about the lightbulb, and they set a time for him to come over and fix it. Once the lightbulb was changed (yes, it really was out), they ended up talking for hours and finally admitted their feelings for each other. Their first date was at what they thought was a brewery, but turned out to be the bar inside Alamo Drafthouse, which happened to be hosting trivia night. They came in last place. Four months later, Jen (and her cats) moved in with Mike. Not long after, they bought their first home together. They’ve since taken countless camping trips, explored national parks, and gone on fun adventures. For their 2nd anniversary, they planned a hiking trip to Glacier National Park, only to find out the night before their flight that storms were going to hit the entire time. With some quick thinking, they booked a last-minute trip to Mexico instead. On their very first morning there, as the sun rose over the beach, Mike proposed. The rest is history :)
