Jennifer received a request to audition for a band called Max Headroom as a new lead singer. The band leader told her that the male singer named “Cole” would pick her up for the audition in Brooklyn and bring her to New Jersey and back. On the ride, Ryan and Jenn listened to Prince, Jeff Buckley, and began their working relationship as Jennifer accepted the position.

Ryan and Jennifer spent years performing together, growing a friendship and spending hours listening to music while traveling along the east coast to gig with their band.

By April of 2017, they went from friends to something more. Their first date was at Storm King between gigs upstate, and that spring they began to spend their free time together (Ryan is pictured on a date with Jennifer at their future wedding venue, Snug Harbor, in 2017!)

One of their favorite thing to do together was travel during these first few years. Hawaii, Paris, Corsica, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and the Philippines (pictured), to name a few of their fondest locations explored!

Taking the relationship to the next step, Ryan and Jennifer moved into an apartment together in Brooklyn just months before Covid hit the US.

While living together through lockdown, lost jobs and pets, Ryan and Jennifer continued to love and support one another, growing their bond. In 2022, on the 5 year anniversary of their first kiss, they enjoyed an Aruban vacation.

She swore she would never move to Staten Island, but when they found the perfect home for them in the Tompkinsville neighborhood of Staten Island, a Victorian charmer built in 1878, they closed on this date invited friends and family over to celebrate with them on a new adventure of home ownership.

Ryan’s plan to proposed to Jenn at midnight on New Year’s Day was almost thwarted by her ambitious pursuit of dressing on theme (Devil in disguise) for a party that evening. Fortunately, Ryan convinced her to make some last minute adjustments right in time for the ball to drop and pop the question. She said yes!

With a trip already planned to Vegas and news of losing her job, Ryan and Jennifer spontaneously eloped on their vacation. They made the decision the night before and by the next afternoon they had gotten outfits at the local thrift store and sealed the deal at the famous Little White Chapel! Now, they are so thrilled to get to celebrate their love with all of you this spring in New York.
