Overlooking the Hudson River in Tarrytown, New York, is Lyndhurst, one of America’s finest Gothic Revival mansions. Designed in 1838 by Alexander Jackson Davis, its architectural brilliance is complemented by the park-like landscape of the estate and a comprehensive collection of original decorative arts. Its noteworthy occupants included: former New York City mayor William Paulding, merchant George Merritt, and railroad tycoon Jay Gould. Lyndhurst is a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Wedding Party

Jen and Stas both attended Indiana University, but their story begins in West Village in October of 2014. Jen had just graduated from IU in May of 2014, and ventured out to Hoboken, New Jersey for work. She had never visited the east coast much prior to moving out there, so it was truly an adventure and she was ready for the change. Stas had been working in the city for a few years at that time and had a nice group of friends from IU, and some he had met along the way. Since moving to a new city, Jen didn't know many people and found it exciting to explore new places each weekend while visiting her friends in the city. As it turned out, dating and making friends was hard in the real world! So her and her roommate installed dating apps with the hope that at the very least, they would make some new friends. She came across Stas's profile and realized they had a few friends in common, they both went to IU, but she didn't know who he was. They began chatting and she thought, the worst that could happen was she would meet more IU people to hang out with. Stas was at a similar point in his life where he thought it would be fun to meet someone new. They had their first date at Wilfie &amp; Nell on a crisp fall Thursday evening in the city. They remember laughing a lot, discussing IU connections, and left it at that! They continued chatting through the week and planned to see each other the following weekend where Stas introduced Jen to his roommates and friends. Jen loves that Stas makes her laugh, most of the time unintentionally. Stas loves Jen's energy and her ability to talk to just about anyone, anywhere. After that, they were nearly inseparable. In December of 2020, Jen and Stas were on their way to meet Jen's colleague and her husband for drinks at the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park. As they were walking through the park, they took a longer route than usual but Jen just assumed Stas knew where he was going. They began walking under a beautifully lit bridge near a fountain, at which time Jen notices a musician begin to play "La Vie En Rose." Stas gets down on one knee asking her to marry him, while his friend Steve peers around the corner capturing the moment. Afterwards, Stas and Jen head downtown to what she believes is a dinner arranged just for the two of them. To her surprise she enters a beautiful outdoor space at City Winery where she is greeted by all their friends and they spent the rest of the evening celebrating all thanks to Stas.
