Once upon a time, in the wild and unpredictable land of the internet, two lone adventurers found themselves swiping through the endless digital forest known as Facebook Dating. Little did Jennifer and Sheridan know, destiny was about to match their profiles—and their love for adventure—with a single, fateful swipe. Our journey began like many online dates: with a couple of awkwardly witty messages, some playful GIFs, and the all-important question, “So, what brings you to Facebook Dating?” After surviving the perils of small talk and verifying that neither of them was secretly a catfish (unless you count that one suspicious profile picture of Sheridan with a particularly large trout), Jennifer and Sheridan decided it was time to meet in person. That first date was full of nerves, laughter, and the usual awkward “Do we hug or handshake?” moment. It went so well that it quickly led to more dates and long road trip visits between Poolville and New Braunfels—each one more memorable than the last. Soon, dinner reservations and shopping adventures were swapped for hunting boots and camouflage. Because nothing says “I think I like you” quite like agreeing to wake up before sunrise to sit in the woods and wait for deer. Yes, you read that right—hunting trips. While most people would politely decline a 4 a.m. invitation to trudge through brush and freeze in silence, Jennifer said, “Sure, let’s do it!" Sheridan, who had previously believed that hunting was a sacred solo ritual, suddenly found himself with the best hunting partner a person could ask for. Coffee in hand (and perhaps a little bit of skepticism about her own sanity), Jennifer joined Sheridan on his exciting hunting adventures. Never once complaining about muddy boots, lost gloves, or early morning shivers. Camping trips followed, along with weekend excursions and spontaneous getaways. Each adventure only confirmed what Sheridan had begun to suspect: there was simply no other woman on this planet—maybe even in the galaxy—who would willingly embark on these escapades, much less laugh along the way. It was somewhere between the freezing hunting trips, the river floats, and the never-ending supply of inside jokes that Sheridan realized that he not only found his best friend, but his life partner. If Jennifer was willing to join him on the 4 a.m. hunting trips, the treacherous waves of deep sea fishing, and the late night random adventures, then she would be up for any adventure and conquer any task with him. Because love, as it turns out, isn’t just about grand gestures or fancy dates—it’s about finding your best friend who brings coffee to the blind, who laughs when you trip over a tree root, and who makes every trip, every moment, and every day a whole lot brighter. So here they are, jumping into their next great adventure!
