There are many steps to obtaining a permanent residency status by way of a K-1 Fiancé visa. The hardest part, getting visa approval, is done! Now that we are married, we submit additional documents for Kal’s green card and work permit. This can take around 3-6 months, or longer. After 3 years, Kal can apply for citizenship. In the meantime, Kal will be volunteering around the Cleveland area while awaiting his work permit approval.
