I met Colby a little while after he started dating Jenni, and from the very beginning, there was something so effortlessly genuine about the way they fit together. On one of their first dates they went to Culver’s, where they were both a little too nervous to eat. Instead, they took their onion rings down to Lake Monona and shared them by the water—talking, laughing, and settling into that new, sweet kind of comfort with each other. Now, every time they go to Culver’s, they still share onion rings—a small reminder of where it all began.

They started dating in the fall, which feels so fitting now as they prepare to be married in that same golden season. I remember hearing about their early dates—picnics with hot chocolate on chilly days—and it was so clear how comfortable they made each other feel. Their relationship has always carried that same warmth and ease.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching them grow, both as individuals and as a couple. They’re each so reliable, loyal, full of joy, and I know I can count on them—separately or together—whenever I need them. There’s truly no one else I could picture my best friend with. I know Jenni is safe and deeply cared for with Colby, and I know his life is more vibrant and grounded with her. They complement each other so naturally—it’s like they’ve found their rhythm and built something long lasting together.

Colby said he knew he wanted to marry her by their first anniversary, and I’m so grateful that moment led us here. I still remember cooking dinner for them that day, feeling so lucky to witness their love up close. Whether they’re off on an adventure or simply living out an ordinary day, they have this way of lighting up around each other that makes everyone near them feel it too.

There’s one photo I took of them on a drive to Spring Green that always comes to mind when I think about their relationship. It wasn’t a big moment—just a quiet day—but the way they were looking at each other said everything. That’s who they are together: steady, kind, and full of love that feels both peaceful and alive.

To me, they’re like a beautiful garden—growing together, flourishing, and cared for with intention. Their love is noticeable to everyone around them, not because they try to show it, but because it’s simply who they are. I’m endlessly thankful for both Colby and Jenni, and so proud to have watched their story unfold.

Conocí a Colby poco después de que empezara a salir con Jenni, y desde el principio, hubo algo tan natural y genuino en cómo encajaban. Su relación siempre ha conservado esa misma calidez y tranquilidad.

Son tan confiables, leales y llenos de alegría, y sé que puedo contar con ellos, ya sea por separado o juntos, siempre que los necesite. Realmente no hay nadie más con quien pueda imaginarme a mi mejor amigo. Sé que Jenni está segura y profundamente cuidada con Colby, y sé que su vida es más vibrante y sólida con ella. Se complementan de forma tan natural; es como si hubieran encontrado su ritmo y hubieran construido algo duradero juntos.

Colby dijo que sabía que quería casarse con ella para su primer aniversario, y estoy muy agradecida de que ese momento nos haya traído hasta aquí. Todavía recuerdo haberles preparado la cena ese día, sintiéndome tan afortunada de presenciar su amor de cerca. Ya sea que estén de aventura o simplemente viviendo un día cualquiera, tienen esa forma de iluminarse el uno al otro que hace que todos a su alrededor también lo sientan.
